I’ve only blocked a few accounts mainly for being absolute dipshits or spam bots, most are banned now anyway.

For everything else, you get either a nice tag labeled “clown” or if you’re clearly a MAGA chud, “MAGA clown”. Several tankies are tagged as such, plus a few I’ve seen that are possibly anti LGBT+ but have also posted about being LGBT+ so I’m unsure on them.

Basically just don’t be a dick or give misinformation and you’re pretty much fine with me.

Current Postmaster General and current board member of competing company FedEx is claiming we need to raise prices and cut FERS contributions, but how about a better option.

How about we cut all the middle managers that do fuck all for us and take up $100k+ a year doing very menial jobs. There’s so much overlap and so many jobs can be eliminated above the people doing the physical work delivering and sorting your mail. We have many offices with an abundance of supervisors yet they keep having hiring events for more supervisors. Locally to me we have 3 offices that could easily have it’s management combined to have 1 postmaster for 3-4 of them, yet every installation has a postmaster and multiple supervisors. There’s people making over $100k a year, plus usage of a postal vehicle to drive around from office to office to tell us how to submit customer leads for mailing services in the scanner, something that could be a stand-up topic.

The PO is so goddamn top heavy it’s ridiculous. They tell us we waste time and money because we sit somewhere for an extra 2 minutes taking a break to cool off or warm up, but we can have 3 supervisors and a postmaster sitting around the office chit chatting all day no problem.

That’s where the PO is losing money, not FERS, not fuel costs, it’s overstaffed management

Edit: Also, losing money is fine for us, we are a SERVICE not a corporation, there’s no shareholders, we’re not for profit, we’re a federal service. Is it better for us to have money? Yes, we desperately need new trucks, the LLVs are dying rapidly and parts have stopped being made. We can make other changes than cutting retirement to cover that cost as I’ve already stated

Problem is our FTC approved the merger allowing the monopoly to proceed. So I doubt any type of law blocking that will be passed any time soon with this clown circus in charge.

Most thermal paper isn’t recyclable though, the chemicals that allow the heat to print onto them can’t be easily recycled. A simple Brother laser printer would be a better option for most people if they’re just printing black text

This as well as many of the contracts the venues have with Live Nation/Ticketmaster have non compete clauses barring them from being able to sell tickets directly or use another service.

Oh yeah, because Ticketmaster and Live Nation being one company holding a monopoly on tickets for every single large/popular venue in the country could never cause an increase in prices I mean who could’ve possibly thought that would happen 🫩

Edit: actually, two of my systems probably made them scratch their heads. My main rig has a 7800XT as a main GPU and a 3090 as a secondary (video encoding/local LLM usage) and they both show up in my system info lol

It makes me sad Wade said he wasn’t gonna do Linux videos anymore because the videos didn’t do well, especially his Linux Olympics video. Lots of the “worlds largest” attractions in America are made to gain tourist attention, like the worlds largest picnic basket, pistachio, etc. They’re usually in areas people wouldn’t normally go. This one is at PistachioLand, which is a large pistachio farm near White Sands National Park, so it’s not necessarily in the middle of nowhere (but maybe a little). They do make a lot of really good pistachio based snacks. Different flavor roasted nuts, pistachio ice cream, red and green chili based foods like jerky or jams. It’s definitely a tourist trap but the nuts they make are good, local and not from Wonderful Pistachios which has terrible quality control and less flavor options.

If anyone here ever heads down to see White Sands, definitely try the garlic or green chili roasted pistachios there.
