I thought SC:O was decent for what it was. Microwave-reheated Star Control with the serial numbers filed off.

Another game that gives me Star Control vibes is Starcom: Nexus. The story isn’t as good but I enjoyed my time with it.

I had never heard of him before her videos. After checking him out, I’m not surprised he pivoted to AI, he was already making slop. :-)

Yeah I get that from the other comments. I just don’t consider playing games with IRL friends part of community but I get it. I was thinking more of the almost universally reviled community forums.

Alright, I just have a knee-jerk reaction when any execs talk about ‘community’ that it’s normally something I have no desire to engage with. However, I see what you mean in this context!

Eh ‘community’ is like the least important reason why I use Steam. It’s just easy to buy, organize, and play your games with friends with a minimum of fuss or resource strain on my PC. I’m sure some people are into the community features but at the same time I feel gaming C-level execs always think that is more important than providing a good, easy-to-use product.

Man I ran into a weird bug during the ‘prison escape’ portion of the game that made me give up entirely. I even watched YouTube videos of the section to make sure I was doing it right but for some reason in my game a door/gate just…wouldn’t open. One of the most frustrating things, but maybe I’ll have to jump back in to at least finish the story.

I love the idea of this but I feel like I’d be too dumb to play it!

If I remember correctly, didn’t he write this based solely on trailers before the movie came out?

I lived through that period and I still hate big coats/double-breasted suits. I don’t like skin tight either, just fitted as well as possible.

Our house was built in 1930 and sits directly across the street from what used to be the farmhouse that owned all the land. Our backyard slopes down to another road. Anytime we dig we find old trash. Our backyard must have been the dump of the farm.
