Yeah, that’s just another highlight of this “cooperation”. The very same company that demands massive concessions for the jet part or else is already involved in developing the drone-side of things when that was Germany’s part of the common project.
To absolutely noone’s surprise France decided yet again that you either do it exactly by their specification (also build in France, by France of course) with no other input allowed.
Ffs… it’s been f***ing 40 years since the APACHE clown show and still idiots in Germany try again and again to make cooperations with France work somehow as if they would ever change.
Oh… and of course the next big idea after a jet primarily developed by France and a support drone eco system developed primarily by Germany is to now to do separate jets and develop the the drone part together. If you have a working brain cell left you know where this ends.
They also -and purely coincidentally of course- totally ignore that Germany in fact has the capacities to produce all electricity required for them (and half of their neighbours on top) while blowing up stories about net imports in a single-digit percentage range and praising other countries actually dependent on imports as long as their energy mix is low in renewables.
The fossil fuel psyops and its results on policies and public opinion is insane.

I still have some ancient RPi running a basic homepage with some reverse proxies. A few weeks ago and after stopping to care about that thing years ago I realized that the access log that was just happily sitting there for years without getting to relevant sizes has suddenly grown by nearly 1GB, most of it in the last 6-8 months because I never bothered to set up logrotate.
But hey… I wanted to test setting up Anubis for quite some time. So now I can watch them run circles in the (still experimental) honeypot feature reading pages and pages of non-sensical babbling 😂

But decades of media has conditioned people to believe that most tech and IT stuff is basically magic, and that seems to nowadays include tech-centric journalists.
So they simply don’t think about actual feasibility and just report omitting details because “look, tech wizard did tech-wizardry”.

Aufrufe zum Bürokratieabbau gibt es in Deutschland nur in zwei Varianten: (a) Abbau von sinnvollen Regularien im Namen des Neoliberalismus und (b) Abbau von Kapazitäten, also (a) durch die Hintertür, weil die Arbeit irgendwann nicht mehr zu schaffen ist und dann natprlich zuerst bei den Kontrollen gespart wird.
Und während Deutschland im europäischen Durchschnitt der Arbeitsplätze im öffentlichen Dienst pro Kopf schon lange weit abgeschlagen auf dem letzten Platz liegt und nichts mehr funktioniert, wird zu jeder Wahl wieder mit “Bürokratieabbau” geworben. Nur noch klein wenig mehr kaputt schlagen, dann läuft es wieder! Wirklich! Vertraut uns!

Sure, the war Trump started may have heavily accellerated (and yes, sadly that is still only a “may”) the move away from fossil fuels. But it also make those people much richer in the short-term. And that is all they care for: the short-term bottom line. The long-term problems are for someone else to solve later…
