For the people going to the er, it’s one of the worst days of their lives. For the people who work there it’s Tuesday.
They move too fast on er. Everything is life or death high stakes, dead bodies are laying around in the hall, gangbangers are barging into surgery rooms to finish off their victims, doctors and nurses should be burning out left and right.
The Pitt feels more like an actual ER where it’s just a job for the staff.
My only problem with ER is they never bother to resolve most of the plots.
They had this one really interesting one where a mom is beaten to death and it’s revealed her daughter did it and then we never see that family ever again
It’s pretty good, especially if you have nostalgia for the mid-90s

There’s certainly good things about it

Sure, if you collapse capitalism, neoliberalism, and western foreign policy into just ‘liberalism’

Someone on Bluesky said it was like if the Dems had lost to Trump 4 times and then ran Mit Romney and won by a historic landslide

I played 300 hours of this game when it came out and stopped playing right before the final mission.
You can definitely tell it all went wrong when they decided to do thousands of procedural generated worlds instead of a tight dozen or so.
Another aspect where they went wrong was having the Constilation home base be on the capital planet instead of being your space ship. You know, like how it is on every sci-fi show from Firefly, to Star Trek, to The Expanse.
I’ve played so many Bethesda games that the tricks they used to make the engine and environments seem larger and more sophisticated stick out like a sore thumb.
All that is to say, there was absolutely a great game in Starfield somewhere.

Imagine if for every news story you read about something bad happening to a tourist they also had to report on every successful visit.
People prefer what’s familiar, in cultures where it’s not the norm they prefer uncut.

Sad watching tv and radio die

Yeah that’s Anthony Bourdain

They’re just looking for an off-ramp as everything implodes as a result of their actions

It was a great show. Sure there was some jank cgi but that’s fine, I don’t mind glossing over that

The whole series is a great little time capsule of the 2010s too
Your broom broke

Love this campy shit.
I think with any ER it must be like that. You’re doing a 12 hour shift, it’s a marathon not a sprint. Slow and steady wins the race. Other platitudes.
