Bart The mixture of unbridled anger and pure desperation just oozes from this entire album. Black metal which does play with some hardcore elements, but not enough to put off even the purists. Post-black metal without being too emo. 2026 has been a top tier year for music, and this is easily near the top for me. Favorite track: Famler i hatet.

Sean Phew! Heavy AF, tight AF, catchy AF, and dynamic AF. Well-produced, too! The record’s energy and quality musicianship remind me of Feversea’s 2025 album, Man Under Erasure (another Oslo band!). It is only April, but i will find it hard to believe if this isn’t still a top 10 2026 album for me come winter solstice.

Luke This is not quite a straight-down-the-line black metal album. But it’s not far off one. It opens gently before becoming harsh and abrasive, with a near-constant flurry of growls and blast beats for the duration. It is, fundamentally, a TRVE NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL record. But Rosa Faenskap are keen to draw a sharp distinction – “declare war” in their words – between themselves and the typical peddlers of such sounds. This is an explicitly queer, “patricidal” project, biting the had that feeds it.

Der Brecher Yes. I agree. With everything (can’t say anything about the Gojira thing though). Do yourself a favor and buy this now instead of later. Pretty monumental. Love the cover art as well. Favorite track: Jeg våkner snart.

Urso X Whatever you think of their music — I happen to love it — RF writes spot-on album descriptions. And so, yes, this is a darker/harsher affair than their previous record, and all the better for it. (A palpable sense of foreboding permeates too, or is that just me?) What’s clear is that this music is utterly of-and-for our current, catastrophically fucked moment: the past dead, the future not yet born, a time of monsters. A year-end list shoo-in.

And yes, EXPLICITLY QUEER. Favorite track: Jeg våkner snart.

Tee^▿^ Rosa Faenskap have always been on my radar but THIS album... wow. This one's wilder, more aggressive, and more emotional. I'm hearing a mix of black metal and hardcore, but also with growling vocals and tinges of blackgaze... and do I hear a Gojira influence on track 2?? Even if it's just my imagination, this album is a must-listen and one of my 2026 favourites. 8/10

ROSA FAENSKAPs sophomore album "Ingenting forblir" ("Nothing endures") shows a darker side of the band than the critically acclaimed debut Jeg blir til deg (2023).

A central theme of the album is the exhausting feeling of watching the seemingly safe world one grew up in gradually become a bleak, uncomfortable place where hate, injustice, and dehumanization constantly grow. The band explores this feeling throughout the album from many different angles – from the poetic, to the analytical, further to the brutally honest and deeply personal. The band is, as always, fearless in freely blending genres such as hardcore, post-rock, and prog – but this time their black metal core is clearer than ever before.
