An owl found partially encased in concrete after it got inside a cement mixer in southwestern Utah is expected to fly free again after it was painstakingly cleaned by animal sanctuary workers who described the bird as a “fighter.”
Now the bird makes a “whooshing” sound as it flies, and the sanctuary won’t release it into the wild until it sheds its feathers and can again fly silently. That should occur next spring or summer, Battista said.
This owl has all kinds of luck. He didn’t get crushed by or buried in the concrete, he got found fairly quickly, they saved his feathers as much as realistically possible, aaaand now he gets full food and care for the toughest part of an owl’s life!
Nice to see this story get this level of coverage as well. I haven’t seen very much owl news in the mainstream the last few months.
The lamestream media is completely ignoring the owl issue
For reals. I can near guarantee at least 9 out of 10 people would rather watch some cute owls than see more American politics. Get on it, news agencies!
