Actually, Ctrl+C is the ASCII Code for the control character ETX (End of Text) since the early 60s. This is not a hotkey but a control character. To change this system, you’d have to change not only dozends of terminal emulators and the kernels of all unixoid operating systems, but at least ANSI, Unicode and Posix, too. And Windows, by the way - even Microsoft uses ctrl+c in both cmd.exe and powershell to kill the running process.

A5 war bis vor wenigen Jahrzehnten das Standardformat für Schulhefte, und zumindest Arztbriefe wurden überwiegend in A5 geschrieben. In der Kollegstufe sind wir dann auf A4 umgestiegen, wo bei mein Deutschlehrer sich dem verschlossen hat und zu unserem Leidwesen auf A5 bestanden hat. Private Briefblöcke kenn’ ich von früher auch eher in A5. Die heutigen DIN-Briefe verbrauchen fast die Hälfte des Blatts für Kopf- und Fußzeilen. Die meisten Briefe kriegt man locker auf A5 unter, insbesondere wenn man die früher üblichen 10 pt Schreibmaschinenschrift statt M$ Arial 12 pt benutzt.

Na ja - die Original(wild)äpfel sind deutlich kleiner - so um die 3 cm im Durchmesser, wenn ich mich nicht irre. Es könnte also schon etwas daran sein, dass die Züchter Äpfel nicht noch größer züchten, damit sie noch in die Hand passen.
