Tasty too.
“Hase” is the German word for a wild rabbit, and “-li” is a diminutive. Means Bunny.

Zopf is a Swiss enriched dough, not totally unlike challah. These are shape like Bunnies (hase). I’ll post more after lunch.

The swirl is some batter with extra sugar and cinnamon added.
Anyone who can rhyme “taxonomic nomenclature” and “carnivorous by nature” is okay by me.
They keep saying unprecedented, but it seems very precedented George, Duke of Clairence seems more on point (thank you The Bugle, Audio Newspaper for a Visual World.)
King Arthur is pretty good about the metric/imperial stuff. They do usually warn that not to mix the units, I did grams for the dry and cups for wet on this one and it worked out well.

425f for the first 30 mins then 375 later will keep it lighter. Timings are only for my oven anyway, but it will probably take longer.

3·2 months agoChainBaker convinced me of the cold Dutch oven method a while back, it even works for bigger loaves without the Dutch oven! I haven’t had the guts to try it with baguettes yet.
