I have a system dynamics question! Maybe you could point me in the right direction? If I have the system response to a step input, what is the simplist way to derive the transfer function? I’ve only ever learned how to use a system to do modeling, not how to reverse engineer the model.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Getting told by Lemmy to stop taking drugs
8·6 days agoI loved mushrooms and acid, salvia was terrible. It’s super short and super intense. You may think “well it’s just 5 minutes” but it will not feel like 5 min. If you’re looking to expand your mind, mushrooms and acid are great. If you want to slice your brain in half and put the two halves in two separate dimensions with no personal introspection to speak of, try salvia.
He looks like Creedy from V for Vendetta.

5·12 days agoThis is not true. Northern cities are still extremely segregated. We say it’s because of economics now, but it’s effectively segregation. The underlying causes of the economic disperity largely remain in place also.
I’m very confused about your comment.
a) Is it not okay to use ‘big boy’ words? Do you disagree with the statement or just with the diction?
b) The second point you make has nothing to do with my comment. I’d have thought you accidentally responded to the wrong comment except for you pointing out ‘insular’. Why are these things relevant to the discussion?

2·15 days agoIt’s also written by people in an agrarian culture so different than our culture today. The fact that it is still relevant at all is amazing. Like this is around the time germ theory was first proposed. Imagine if we still relied on a single document as the guiding principle for medicine established before germ theory was widely accepted.
There are faults with the founding fathers and their documents, but it amazes me how well the constitution has endured, not as an important document, but as a relevant document addressing issues we have today.

Lemmy does seem to have some insular thinking (just like all social media communities). Feels like you can actually have discussion and at least learn why people hold those views instead of just being chastised.

10·19 days agoI could be wrong but I think the 3.5% protest observations assumes but doesn’t count non-participatory support. So the 3.5% is meant as the number in the streets with some much higher percentage of ‘quiet’ support.
Eros Venus now, sasa?
What kind of brick is that?
Ethicists were too preoccupied with whether or not they should, they didn’t stop and think if they could.
Yup, set up a monthly recurring donation. One of the most valuable thing humanity has built. My life would be much worse without it.

Excellent write up. Appreciate your time!
