Badon 06:10
Half a life has washed over me We once stood here alone Time reveals again, it was a different game For those greater than me are no longer here They come to me, in dreams They come to me, in screams Let me show you the song my dear It’s the air, it’s the fear In the earth which we toil They came, with blood Upon this hill will we stand and fight With man and child Glorious! Glorious! A delusion of time, inside Of your mind, while you cling To the fear of unknown A world, of no hope, no soul It’s time to reclaim, the night For your heart will find A kingdom of love
2.
It’s pain, wash over you A chance to grow, the unknown Embrace, let them flow The strength to let go, to the end Don’t wave, it’s time to let go The king stands alone, all for you Riding the Thunder alone A chance to grow, for your home The blood moon is all, Stillness beyond The blood moon is all, Echoes of hope, from a different song Rising, the old gods follow A chance to grow, to Badon The whispers, ignite from a glow A chance to grow, make anew The blood moon is all, Stillness beyond The blood moon is all, Echoes of hope, from a different song As the sun beckons the eye She knew it was time Gentle rain soften the cries Fearless souls, claiming the sky
3.
Swept up by the mist and carried away I let you pass me by, I can still feel the touch of your hand But did it mean so much to you? Octavia let me through The ale and the wine, to incline, My vision in your sight Back to the night, for I was never in your mind A lingering warmth for you to find, Octavia be mine Who will wait for me? I just need to believe You’ll remember me, let this all mean something More than before I searched for the signs, betrayed in your eyes In dreams you came for me, With every night, away from your side Another in your mind, I’m desperately trying, To hold on to you Who will wait for me? I just need to believe You’ll remember me, let this all mean something More than before I’m drowning in you, for my saviour And I bear this for you, sweet Octavia If I close my eyes, I can picture you Now I’ve wandered far and wide away from you As the nightmares multiply Who will watch for you? In a world of lies, I only trust the truth I’m drowning in you, for my saviour And I bear this for you, sweet Octavia Be mine, I call your name, I call your name
4.
As the echoes fade in to the moonlit night We step up to face the hordes, our lives on the line With a dream of strength and freedom, from the plains of Eden In the fields we’re not alone, we have risen It’s something in the blood, woah Salvation for the soul, woah Beneath the stars we wait, where destines are made Through the fear and the pain The seeds of life remain, our burdens washed away For tonight, we ride They will come to tempt you with their holy light Dare to claim what’s yet unknown, your heart and your mind A tapestry of love, under the blessing of god The Sergeant holds the staff of souls, to the heavens It’s something in the blood, woah Salvation for the soul, woah Beneath the stars we wait, where destines are made Through the fear and the pain The seeds of life remain, our burdens washed away For tonight, we ride I’ll wash away the pain The weak of heart find grace I’ll welcome you to my hearth Illusions play their part Beneath the stars we wait, where destines are made Through the fear and the pain The seeds of life remain, our burdens washed away For tonight, we ride

Sentinel 06:26
Who will be there, in the end When the seas rise to swallow the fear For the cross that I bear It holds me up, but weighs me down Ageless lifetimes of regret Bestowed upon my shoulders Sentinel still it stands Flowing waiting drowning I have spent my life Running away from All the things I am afraid of The clouds in the night sky Dying to hold on Open the door to a new life When they come for your son With stories so romancing On this road, watch it fall The hand looks so enticing Pushing back through the storm Holy mother of creation Now you’re tired tattered and worn Who is waiting there for you I have spent my life Running away from All the things I am afraid of The clouds in the night sky Dying to hold on Open the door to a new life I have spent my life Running away from All the things I am afraid of The clouds in the night sky Dying to hold on Open the door to a new life
6.
I have stood here waiting for a sign Facing east, the grey and white intwine When did this hill become my holy shrine? The truth is I accept that I must die Let me wander to a time that looks over the stars To a place in your heart Where no one could hold us apart The source blesses those on the hill An end to what we have known for so many years From that moment I saw you, it stays with me still I’m commanded to die here alone, up on the hill They came like thunder, flowing deep and wide The ghost of Badon, steel against the tide This Albion would not be cast aside Our blood will feed the fields and paint the sky Let me wander to a time that looks over the stars To a place in your heart Where no one could hold us apart The source blesses those on the hill An end to what we have known for so many years From that moment I saw you, it stays with me still I’m commanded to die here alone, up on the hill Do not say, this is the end Shaking fury, up to the night sky As she kisses her child’s hand The storm clouds weep a last goodbye Do not say, this is the end No tender hand, to guide you away Do not say, this is the end The firstborn is called to fight and die The source blesses those on the hill An end to what we have known for so many years From that moment I saw you, it stays with me still I’m commanded to die here alone, up on the hill Through the smoke and the sweetness, won’t let me in Over oceans and mountains, I swear that I’m falling From that moment I saw you, it stays with me still I’m commanded to die here alone, up on the hill

Hailing from the historical and magical area of Somerset in England, Sergeant Thunderhoof have yet again delved deep in to local history, mythology and folklore to deliver their most focussed album to date. ‘The Ghost of Badon Hill’ is a true conceptual piece, set in the 4th Century AD and positively charged with raw emotion and Arthurian mysticism. Recorded in their home town of Bath (UK) by Josh Gallop (who is now an official member of the band) and mastered by Tony Reed (Mos Generator), this new LP sees the band exploring wider and more textured sonic landscapes.
