My city doesn’t charge sales tax on food items. Which I think should be standard everywhere. But even then, food prices are getting out of hand. I work for myself, so luckily I’m fine with Beans-n-Rice and Rice-n-Beans during tough times. I’m naturally lean, and I have a big garden and my own poultry to fall back on too. So no bother for me. But grocery prices are getting sorta crazy if someone has a big family to feed.

But it doesn’t matter what party is in power, it’s not like prices are gonna go down. What we are seeing right now, will be cheap compared to 10 years from now.
