Arguably the most disliked person on Lemmy because I defend free speech and civil rights, and I push back against Fascists, Nazis, and Lemmy Groupthink.

  • Despite the drawbacks, Johnson explained that there are also a slew of positives to their lifestyle that ultimately make it all worth it.

First, he gushed about the strong sense of community, explaining: 'It is hard for people who have never lived in a small community to understand what it really means to truly know everyone [in your town].

'The people that worked at the local stores when I was growing up, still work there. The owners of the family diner, are still the owners of the family diner.

‘It is not an exaggeration to say that when I leave my house I budget an extra hour for errands simply because I will see people and have to catch up.’

He said everyone in town ‘truly cares for each other’ in a way that’s different from other places in America.

‘If a family business is struggling to make ends meet, people will go out of their way to eat or shop there,’ he said.

'If someone’s car breaks down on the side of the road, you will see 4-5 other vehicles stop to help.

‘The connectedness of my town is something that is very hard to find outside of Alaska.’

  • Look, I get why it’s hard for you to just admit you had no clue how many people were pissed off over some celebrity shilling jeans. Yeah, it’s a ridiculously petty thing to get worked up about. I think it’s dumb too.

But people were upset. You seemed to doubt that fact, so I dropped the receipts to prove it was actually a thing.

And what makes you think I’m some kind of worshipper? I didn’t write the article. I’ve never even seen one movie or show she’s been in. I just linked the piece. I didn’t pen the NPR one either, or any of the dozen others that covered it. Is that the part that’s confusing you?

Plenty of actual news outlets figured it was worth reporting, even if you personally don’t. Just because you weren’t aware of it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Hope that clears things up.

  • Listen, you sound like a miserable person.

Because I’m not pissed about a jeans commercial?! lol My life is awesome and I’m happy and not pissed at the commercial at all. How am I miserable?! Did you misread what I wrote maybe?

I’m not reading your shit because I fundamentally don’t respect you as an equal.

Because I’m not pissed about a jeans commercial?! lol

You went out of your way to try to rile people up trying to prove a point.

I didn’t write the article. Not only that, you made a joke yourself about how none of it matters. I was just replying and agreeing with you. I agree with you, so why are ya mad?! I don’t get it.

    Nobody here cares.

Obviously you do, because you got all pissy when I agreed with you. It’s a jean commercial. Why u so mad about it? No one cares, remember? Dude, calm down…

  • The reason Republicans won the last presidential election is because disenfranchising elegible voters is a key Republican strategy.

That’s the strategy of every political party. LMAO If the Dems can’t overcome that, that shows how weak they are. And vice versa.

Look at the voter numbers in 2024 and compare with 2020. There wasn’t a bunch of new Republican voters, there was a lot less Democrat voters.

Guess the Democrats need better candidates then!

I don’t like the Democrats, but my child will be hurting from the Republican power grabs and terrible decisions for the rest of her life.

Your child will be hurting from all political power grabs. And if the Democrats are saviors, they can fix it all when they come into power. But they won’t. If the Democrats won’t fix it, and the Republicans won’t fix it…that sounds like…that sounds like…hey…BOTH parties suck. :)

Neither major party cares about you or your kids, or me or my kids. How has that not been made clear yet? LMAO

Exactly who are you mad at here? You sound mad at the Republicans. You sound mad at the Democrats. You know why? Because BOTH parties suck. lolol

So what are you going to do about it? You gonna keep supporting a 2-party system, even though they have both let you down all this time? You gonna keep letting people who are over 70 make all your decisions?

  • You say that jokingly, but the point is it was very much a thing people were riled up about. And tried to cancel. There was a loud minority of SJWs who tried to cancel her once they found out she leaned conservative. People started attacking her online, tweeting and posting stuff like “Well, in my household we’ll never watch anything she’s in again!” and “Welp, she’s over, bye Sidney!” It even started bleeding into interviews whenever she tried to promote a movie.

But in the end the cancel attempt flopped. Fifty people deciding not to buy something doesn’t actually do anything. She still gets work, and the jeans company is fine. It’s a perfect example of a loud minority thinking they could take down an actress just because they assumed she was conservative. Like most of these things, mainstream society just ignored them. Most people don’t give a fuck.

It was a fucking jeans commercial, and some vegan Karens thought they were going to change the world by getting pissed off about it. They somehow twisted it into her and the jeans company being part of the KKK or some shit. And nothing came of it. LMAO.

Your joke is exactly on point. Why was anyone even mad in the first place?!

It’s a fucking jeans commercial by some chick who doesn’t vote the way Lemmy some other people do. That’s it. And their anger didn’t change anything. She’s laughing all the way to the bank.

  • It’s not a both sides thing.

It’s very much a both sides thing though. Republicans haven’t always been in power. When the Dems were in power, they could have solved many of the issues you have a problem with, but they didn’t.

You can be mad about the republicans all you want, but the reason they won elections is because people were unhappy with what the Democrats achieved. And guess what? The reverse is true too. Next election will go to Democrats becuase people are unhappy with the Republicans. And back and forth. And back and forth.

The Democrats won’t save you. Then haven’t, and they won’t. They don’t care about you. They care about money. The Republicans won’t save you. Then haven’t, and they won’t. They don’t care about you. They care about money.

But you all keep voting for the same two fucking parties, and nothing changes. Nothing has gotten cheaper. Nothing has gotten better. BOTH parties suck because neither party cares about working-class americans.

Every single thing you are bitching about, could have been avoided. But nope, Democrats stood behind a guy with dementia, lied about it until it became so bad they couldn’t hide the fact, then slipped in Harris at the last minute.

BOTH parties suck and I don’t trust any of them until they start putting forward people who are less than 60 years old. If you have to have an aide read and send emails because you don’t know how to use your phone, then you shouldn’t be in office.

I will never vote for anyone who is over 60. I don’t care what party, how awesome they are, or if I have to just withold my vote. No one over 60 gets my vote.

And I’ll laugh as the world burns while you all get mad at people who say both parties suck. My life is awesome, and it doesn’t depend on any of you guys. :)

  • My city doesn’t charge sales tax on food items. Which I think should be standard everywhere. But even then, food prices are getting out of hand. I work for myself, so luckily I’m fine with Beans-n-Rice and Rice-n-Beans during tough times. I’m naturally lean, and I have a big garden and my own poultry to fall back on too. So no bother for me. But grocery prices are getting sorta crazy if someone has a big family to feed.

But it doesn’t matter what party is in power, it’s not like prices are gonna go down. What we are seeing right now, will be cheap compared to 10 years from now.

Who’s gonna have the balls to stand up and do anything about that? From any party? I’m not seeing anyone on the horizon like that.

  • I don’t know who tried to “cancel” her.

It’s a perfect example of a loud minority thinking they could take down an actress just because they assumed she was conservative. Like most of these things, mainstream society just ignored them. Most people don’t give a fuck.

The fact that you don’t even know who tried to “cancel” her is proof of how lame the whole thing was in the first place. It was a fucking jeans commercial, and some vegan Karens thought they were going to change the world by getting pissed off about it. They somehow twisted it into her and the jeans company being part of the KKK or some shit. And nothing came of it. LMAO.

It’s the same energy Lemmy tries to pull every day, acting like they’re the pulse of the nation with all their revolution and “eat the rich” talk. Nothing ever changes. Most people just go through life doing their own thing without making politics and rage their whole personality.

There’s not going to be a revolution. Luigi isn’t some hero who’s going to lead the people. Robinson isn’t a hero because he murdered Charlie Kirk. And people are still buying the jeans this chick is advertising. Life goes on, and the extremists keep crying. Because they don’t really matter.

It’s fun to watch from a sociological point of view though. I’m loving it.

  • Oh, so if that’s the case, then no worries, right? Nothing to be mad about.

There was a loud minority of SJWs who tried to cancel her once they found out she leaned conservative. I like her.
