4tH is a Forth compiler with a little difference. Instead of the standard Forth engine it features a conventional compiler. 4tH is a very small compiler that can create bytecode, C-embeddable bytecode, standalone executables, but also works fine as a scripting language. It supports about 95% of the ANS Forth CORE wordset and features conditional compilation, pipes, files, assertions, forward declarations, enumerations, structures, suspended execution, recursion, include files, etc. It comes with an RPN calculator, BASIC interpreter, line editor, preprocessor, compiler, decompiler, C-source generator, a virtual machine, and a multitasking environment.

Thinking Forth captures the philosophy of the language to show users how to write more readable, better maintainable applications. This project makes the book available in electronic form (LaTeX and PDF).

VolksForth is a 16bit Forth System with the goal to produce a manageable Forthsystem for computer systems with restricted system resources.

Ficl is a lightweight, embeddable scripting language designed to be incorporated into other programs, including memory constrained embedded systems. Ficl conforms to the 1994 ANSI Standard for Forth, and provides several useful extensions including object oriented programming that can wrap compiled code and hardware interfaces. Unlike Lua or Python, Ficl acts as a component of your system - you feed it stuff to do, it does the stuff, and comes back to you for more. You can export compiled code to Ficl, execute Ficl code from your compiled code, or interact. Your choice. Ficl includes a simple but capable object model that can wrap existing data structures. Applications include scripting, hardware bring-up, rapid prototyping, and system extensions.

MinForth V3.4 is a classic Forth system with command-line interface. Development resource requirements are minimal. A source text editor and a C compiler are sufficient. By design no toolchain is required to adapt or rebuild MinForth. A complete rebuild takes only few seconds. Current sources are for Windows and Linux (32-bit or 64-bit). MinForth primitive definitions are written in mixed Forth and C language and are transpiled to pure C code. Main but not exclusive application for the transpiler is to build the MinForth V3.4 high-level Forth compiler. MinForth V3.4 is widely conformant to the Forth-2012 draft standard and passes the usual test suites. Tachyon was originally developed for the Parallax Propeller 8-core MCU because I need to do more and faster, and within the the limited memory, in order to produce firmware for my commercial embedded hardware products. When the much vaunted successor, the P2 was introduced, then Tachyon was upgraded and also built into the P2 ROM as TAQOZ. Source code can be sent or pasted from the PC terminal at high speed (921,600 default) without any terminal delays and compiled into RAM ready for backup into SD or Flash. TAQOZ RELOADED, the full version of Tachyon for the P2 can be booted from SD cards or Flash and has all the tools needed to develop and test code interactively on the target MCU. There's even a Tachyon layer that runs on Mecrisp on the RP2040 too and now the ESP32-C3 as TachyonESP which uses the Arduino IDE to build the kernel.

FTH provides running stand alone Forth scripts like Ruby etc. and using Forth as an extension language to your application.

amforth is an extendable command interpreter running on AVR ATmega and TI MSP430 microcontrollers. The Risc-V and ARM architectures are ascending. Turnkey actions for IoT workloads are possible as well. The command language is close to the Forth 2012 standard.

colorForth is, in Chuck Moore's own words: "A dialect of Forth that uses color to replace punctuation. Includes its own operating system. Produces extremely compact programs. Instant compile from pre-parsed source."

A Perl based interpreter for a language which is a blend of Forth and APL. The power of lang5 stems from its arrays operations in conjunction with the underlying Forth programming paradigm of bottom up programming.

Wisp is a small Scheme-like language designed to be easily used in various structured data processing tools. The accent is on simplicity, automatical generatibility, and efficiency. (Currently on long hiatus. Gauche has similar goals and is maturer.)

Buggy C language implementation of my BIF 6809 variant of fig-FORTH. May be interesting to programmers with C background who want to understand the high-level version of the low-level of FORTH.
