The Syrian Ministry of Energy announced today that it has laid the cornerstone for a new power generation plant in the Mhardeh area in Hama governorate (central Syria), with a capacity of 800 megawatts.

The media office at the Ministry of Energy told Enab Baladi that the project comes under an agreement signed between the ministry and UCC Holding, which provides for the construction and operation of four power plants with a total capacity of 4,000 megawatts, in addition to solar energy projects with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts.
