  • i answered your question before you even asked it. the charitable read would be to not assume people want you dead because of a hypothetical scenario. you could absolutely have asked for clarification if you felt unsafe but you didn’t. why?

and by the way, the opposite was also true: someone asked you what one of your posts meant because you used a nonexistent word, and you dismissed them.

  • well the entire thing were someone had their bike stolen, took their car instead, and got in a traffic accident for starters. that wasn’t even about you but you reacted as if it was.

if you feel you were threatened, what was it specifically that did it?

i’m still asking if you considered the possibility before jumping to the conclusion “everyone here is mentally ill”.

  • hah, since you actually got a game running i think you’re fine. the cpu usually starts throttling before any damage is done, so the thing you’ll notice if something is wrong is that performance decreases after some play time.

the main thing to look for is if you get a massive spike in temp the instant you put the cpu under load. if you see temps climb over a few seconds that means the thermal mass of the cooler is wicking the heat away properly. another thing to check is whether changing the cpu fan speed changes how fast the cpu cools down.

if your temp doesn’t level out under load, or increases during idle, then your cooler is too small.

if you’re nervous anyway (as i was), thermal pads have gotten really good.
