          I had no fucking clue who that guy is and I don’t really care who he is. This meme been around a very long time and nobody should care who this guy was or is. Nobody normalizing this guy. People just making a funny meme, that is it.

      0AD is so much better than AoE

      It really, really isn’t. It’s really quite terrible in comparison. I was actually quite saddened, because I first played it like 15 years ago, but then replayed it late last year and was excited to see how much it had progressed, but it still really felt like the early alpha game of my memory.

            So u played one game, and dint like it because u didnt read the culture tree and didnt know what to do with thr units. I guess fair.

            Just some things tho:

            The game is also downloadable the normal way not just as torrent. The “sexism” thing has been fixed, pesants now have random gender.

              Oh cool! Glad to see! 8 months ago either it wasn’t an option, or it wasn’t presented very prominently.

              That’s ok, but like I said in that thread, the problem isn’t really the sexism (that was just an added factor), it was the game design that came with that. The unintuitive way some military units can also do eco work, but some can’t, and there’s no simple or intuitive way to know which is which.

              And as much as I liked the idea of having a trade-off that you have to decide how many and when to send citizen-soldiers to battle vs when to hang back on eco didn’t feel good. Maybe with more experience that gets better? But first impressions matter, and it definitely doesn’t feel as good as Age.

                Yeah ok it was a bit reductive, ima bit defensive about 0AD cuz i loved AoE but i hate Microsoft, and 0AD is the only existing replacement.

                It gets better over time. I love that there is the option to play with infinite amount of units (if ur pc can handle it), i played matches with 3000 vs 3000 units and it was very fun. I love the custom map editor. There is also a few “fun” modes like wolfmap, its a map in the arctic without any wood (u get some start resources) and every few minutes there are a bunch of wolves spawning, and if u set the map size to huge…its not just a few wolves after some play time it becomes a zombie wolf game where you have to defend yourself against thousands of wolfs while somehow trying to get some fenced off trade up for resources. That mode is very fun and i seen many games where players dont even get to fight each other because they spend the whole game fighting wolfe attack waves.

    The Wololo tournament just took place this past weekend, culminating in the grand final at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Some absolutely fantastic gameplay in both aoe2 and aoe4.
