I worked for Microsoft years ago. Nandella early years were great, quality was part of the process, engineer on automation like me had a great time.

Then he lost his kid and he returned something changed, managers were much less flexible, they started to fire people and luckily I was able to change jobs before they start the annual layoffs.

Instead of giving raises they prefer to cut 10% every year and hire cheaper… my friends that remained say the morale is very low

And this change things, when you like the place you work, you work the extra mile, when you are afraid of being layoff you just fake you’re doing more, you try to pull the rug of others instead of collaborate, ambient gets toxic and quality and true innovation suffers.

But for this you can get a Mac, and would be better than Linux. I do use macOS for work but my personal computer even for gaming is using Mint.

Linux is easier than ever to adop, distros like Mint just works out of the box, gaming with on Linux with proton and newer Wine much easier now…

Macs are cheaper than ever with MacBook Neo, if you want something that would just works out of the box.

So people have options and they need to realize there is tons of options for every need.

You what is sad… they only fought slavery because they needed more consumers for the forming industry, it was corporate interests of the north. It wasn’t a selfless movement.

I am using on Mac and I have few hooks, one is replace any rm to trash command. You can make hooks for the most dangerous patterns and use dangerous-skip-permissions with a bit more safety.

It would technical possible for Apple to have dual boot, and you could boot macOS when you connect to an external display. But I guess it would not be good for business

So sad for Firefox. I try to keep using since it’s the only solution free of Chromium, but I guess chromium will control everything only Safari will not be chromium.

I just hope they call victory with what they have, make a deal and end this war… let their base believe it was a win and that’s it.
