  • I picked it up very quickly. Swapping edge and linking turns in a few runs and jumping baby kickers and doing small board slides on day 2.

The only hard part by far is using T-bars. I still fall on them 😞 Even in the kids area lol. And yet I just did a few runs of my first black and only went down on that twice.

The thing that clicked for me was to look further ahead, keep up pace, and stop thinking. Kind of clicked in minutes after that.

    I’m against it lol.

I think anyone that doesn’t realise there is not “best” in distros is either stuck in the consumer mindset or is so narcissistic they think everything they do is the best without ever considering that perhaps few people are actually like them.

Truth is, there’s a distro for everyone. It’s super easy to test drive and hop. We’re spoiled for choice. If someone wants to contest someone else’s choice, they’re an idiot and can go back to closed source where over-researching and min-maxing is a requirement to get what you want, not a choice.

  • When I was younger, I had my Boomer in-laws decide that I would drive because I had drunk the least—I had drunk plenty. And this just seemed like something normal and I’d just nonchalantly say, “Oh, that makes sense. That’s smart.”

They were upset that I wouldn’t, insisted they would, and got more upset that I ordered a cab.

Fortunately, after they realised they’d lost, they sided with the idea being really stupid and irresponsible, but I think that’s just because they got morally caught out by a 22-year old.

    The irony is “necessities”.

Plenty of unemployed people out there enjoying life on levels you’ll never get to ibecause of “nice to haves” being classified as “necessities”.

It’s something only the top echelon of Earth’s population could be plagued with. The same proportion with the high suicide rates and mental health issues. The ones that can’t live without being in a “developed” society.

  • It was using “–” as an em-dash out of em-dash context that sent it over the edge.

Imagine an engineer, “Really need to tighten this bolt… Toss me a hammer!”

But, you’re right. Most people online don’t live under the Grammar Nazi rule, for sake of convenience and casual comms. But in the case of this person’s own context, gawd damn. Got their major from Captain Crunch U.
