Yeah, that sounds a lot more serious than simply harassing people, yet it’s only mentioned for a single sentence here.

1·11 days agoI love Grayjay, but had plenty issues lately. Feels like a cat and mouse game with YouTube often.
Experience doesn’t even have much to do with it. I’ve seen developers working much longer than me do the same.
Alternatively you can pick any Nintendo song, should work just as well
This is sad man, just stop your stupid bullshit

News@lemmy.world•Charlie Kirk bullet analysis finds no conclusive link to rifle found near sceneEnglish
3·18 days agoI’m reading a lot, so I have no idea what’s true. Everything reads like a conspiracy theory these days.
Like the sheriff who brought in the suspect abruptly resigning coincidentally when the ballistic report was going to be released.
Or apparently the only other case where this happened, that a bullet of that calibre could not be traced back to the gun, was apparently the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
It all starts sounding very believable, but I guess you can do that with any case if you want.
No, capitalist society does not care about productivity.
It’s proven time and time again giving flexibility, working from home, a good life/work balance , etc. to workers improves their productivity. A happy worker is a good worker.
What they care about are control and numbers. They want to measure, compare and see numbers go up short term. And you can only do that by keeping your workers on a tight leash.

3·21 days agoI also recommend Qobuz. They’re European and have high quality streaming + the option to buy and album and download it.
If you don’t mind the less legal way, you can easily use a program like streamrip and download whatever you want from the service.
And if you don’t have the money to spend, they have a trial for a month. Just rip whatever you need and have a nice offline collection. And if you need more, you can just make a start trial with a disposable e-mail.
There’s also lucida.to if you don’t want to be bothered with any of that.

4·26 days agoI’ve flown before 9/11 and security scans were already a thing.
What wasn’t a thing were power hungry officials and draconian rules that don’t matter.
Governments saw opportunity to grab control and lessen privacy. If you truly believe this is about safety, the you’re sorely mistaken. There are plenty of other, non-invasive actions taken to increase security.

It’s a tracker like an Apple Airtag, which basically just needs a compatible phone in range (I guess about 10 metres).
Apple made it so any iphone can detect this without any user interaction or setup. If the iphone detects a nearby tracker, it will just send the location to the user the tracker is registered to.
I don’t use an iphone, but I’m fairly sure that’s how it works. Not even sure if it can be disabled. Android has similar things, but they usually require an app to be installed.
