331·2 days agoI don’t have a problem with LLMs as much as the way people use them. My boss has offloaded all of his thinking to LLMs to the point he can’t fix a sentence in a slide deck without using an LLM.
It’s the people that try to use LLMs for things outside their domain of expertise that really cause the problems.

Technology@lemmy.world•‘I want to cancel’: YouTube Premium quietly hikes its US prices for the first time in three years, forcing many users to consider the unthinkableEnglish
151·4 days agoThere is an assumption these people are making that I am not sure they are aware they are making. They are assuming the cost of running YouTube is increasing so the cost of YouTube premium needs to increase. Every public company is driven by maximizing share holder value, the goal is to extract as much money as possible from the user.
Does that mean you believe white liberals don’t actually care about minorities?
Are you saying all white people who advocate for minorities are virtue seeking and self congratulating
If it’s intended to call out the vain, why does it say white liberals?

21·9 days agoI am not going to shit on the man. His views and opinions about free software are worth knowing and understanding. I just would invite home to a dinner party or ask his opinion on any other topics.

6·9 days agoI agree with most of Stallman’s views on proprietary code. However, the one time I met him in person I found him to be off putting. I am not going to get into details because this is the internet and I know how people are.
That’s kind of cool
I am guessing she married the river as a statement about not needing to be in a relationship to be happy.
Yes, but analyzing the policy can help us make better policies. Also don’t use retarded, you undermine your message by using a slur often directed at the neurodivergent.

I am pretty sure the guy had some ment illness going on. I watched some videos after he died and he sounded like the guys at the group home I used to work at.
It took me a moment to get it. At first I thought this was a reference to captain Kirk saying Sora died like a red shirt. The I was like oh yeah there was that forgettable man named Kirk that die.
I will argue that the glass being half empty can be an optimistic view. The empty space is an opportunity to fill the glass with something of my choice. For example I could fill the remaining half with orange juice concentrate to now have a full glass of orange juice.

There is a third problem. It assumes talented people are will return to jobs where they can be fired at the whim of a presidents.

Your better off getting 10 people and starting a commune
