What’s Metas main incentive? Money, obviously.

What do people want? Social networking without bills, ads or privacy issues.

Those two things are incompatible.

Im Gegensatz zu Blockchain ist KI aber gekommen um zu bleiben. Ist ja nicht umsonst Thema in der Informatik seit es die Informatik gibt. Die aktuelle Frage ist nur, welche LLM-Anwendungen tatsächlich sinnvoll sind und in der Praxis Vorteile bringen.

Keine Ahnung wie Massenkompatibel das ist, aber ich selbst fände ein Micropayment-System gut. 30 Cent, anbieterübergreifend mit einem Klick zu zahlen, würde ich immer für interessante Artikel ausgeben. Da käme im Monat bestimmt auch was zusammen.

Ja, das fällt mir sogar als Hobbyprogrammierer auf. Jeder schlägt für alles KI vor, auch wenn es überhaupt keinen Sinn macht. Keine Sau braucht KI im Auto, das Ding muss zuverlässig und deterministisch funktionieren.

Ich persönlich warte auf genau eine einzige Anwendung von KI in meinem Alltag: Home Assistant mit meinen eigenen Mikrofonen, TTS und Sprachsynthese, API-Anbindung an ChatGPT-4. Der Witz dabei muss natürlich sein, dass die KI die Bezeichnungen meiner Geräte und Räume kennt und versteht.

Ist sicherlich heute schon machbar, habe aber aktuell keine Zeit mich da reinzufuchsen.

Vielleicht sollten auch Unternehmen, die von der Software profitieren (z.B. solche mit aktiven Communities) Mitarbeiter zur Entwicklung abstellen. Ist im Moment wohl noch unwahrscheinlich, aber bei vielen Open Source Projekten hilft das ungemein. Bezahlte Mitarbeiter haben eben entspannte 8h am Tag im Gegensatz zu hobby-/ehrenamtlichen Entwicklern.

I think the whole reddit issue can be summed up very concisely. The users liked reddit because it was simple to use, free of ads and other distracting bullshit. That’s how they got big. But there’s no money in that. For some reason, investors still threw money at it. Now, they want their money back and reddit has 2000 employees. They need to find more and more ways to make money, which effectively kills the reason reddit got popular in the first place.

TL;DR don’t invest gazillions in a site simply because it has many users.

Ja wieso denn nicht? Ist von außen natürlich unmöglich zu beurteilen, aber wenn er z.B. Famile, Freunde und ein Haus hat halte ich eine Flucht (mit anschließendem untertauchen und Leben als illegaler) auch für sehr unwahrscheinlich.

Wow. Da war die Prüfung der charakterlichen Eignung wohl lückenhaft.

Ich denke, ein großer Teil des Umdenkens ist schon mit “Vielleicht sollten wir uns nicht stundenlang in die pralle Sonne knallen?” erreicht.
