This album is dedicated to those in Palestine who are currently suffering under a genocide campaign by the occupying Israeli forces, most especially the children whose futures have been taken and shattered in the blink of an eye. The people there are being starved, bombed in their homes, shot whilst gathering for minuscule amounts of aid, taken hostage in the thousands, imprisoned with no trial for inordinate amounts of time, and much worse, all while living under archaic apartheid segregation laws. It's truly unfortunate how much time this has been going on (at least since 1948) and how little has been done to help the victims of this atrocity. I also feel shame in how long it has taken me to speak up and use my small platform to support these people loudly. In truth it is because I have been afraid to. I don't want to sound like I am making excuses, but the truth of the matter is that the political climate in the USA right now is one where if you are a person of color or any minority speaking up for human rights, you might be subject to governmental targeting and/or further danger of being disappeared off the streets. As a Latino American born to hardworking immigrants, it's time to not let my fear rule my conscience. I am lucky to be where I am compared to those in Gaza/West Bank, Sudan, or anywhere people are treated like lesser. No words that I could type up could possibly change those situations, but perhaps bringing back the reverberated echoes of Jamaican resistance through the music of incredible revolutionary artists might help those with more means than I to get up and do something that might actually change everyone's situations for the better.

As the great Robert Nesta Marley once stated: "Get up, stand up. Stand up for your right. Get up, stand up. Don't give up the fight."

They are a reputable charity with an office inside of Gaza helping with many different things including caring for the sick and injured as well as giving prosthetics to those who need them. I wanted to give huge shouts out to the wonderful artists which I plundered these tunes from. Many of them have been passed away for a while now, and the ones that are still alive today have unfortunately faded from popularity into obscurity. Without these artists speaking up and releasing parts of their souls into this world via their art, this project (and music in its current form today imho) would not be. Reggae is something that I have listened to all my life, and now more than ever I feel like the messages of liberation/freedom, lamentation for oppressed peoples, love, yearning for a better world, and attitudes of resistance are what is needed at this moment. Those that are in power fear the powers of Knowledge and the Idea. It is why they spend so much to keep the population divided and uneducated.

Unending thanks to Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer (and the rest of The Wailers of course), Jacob Miller, Gregory Isaacs, Barrington Levy, Rudolf Francis, Ini Kamoze, UB40, and all of the people in the bands that performed alongside these legends for the incredible samples that were used throughout this project, many of which I grew up listening to.
