I love Tanya’s Macrame Plant Hanger(specially the grey one)
Thanks, Gaby. She has made more, too. I need to update this list. Soon.
Good Job everyone these are really good. MY fav probably is Debra’s Flat Spiral Stitch Bracelets (Sept 2010) the first one listed. Its is cute 😉
Thanks Angela! I had a lot of fun making those!
Donna, U are fabulous and I love your work.. I wanted to try out macrame bags and I searched for hours on the net, but found nothing worthwhile. And then I found this site, and I made the handbag shown in this, https://thisyearsdozen.wordpress.com/2008/05/18/how-to-macrame-a-purse/ I cudnt comment on that page for some reason, so I am writing here. I didnt have the beads, and I made it in green and orange instead of white, and a little modifications were made, but it was a fantastic tutorial. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!!
Hi Somdyuti, thanks so much for letting me know you made a purse using my instructions. If you would, could you e-mail a photo of it so I can add it to the “You Made It” post.

BTW, I went in and changed my settings to allow comments for older posts. Sorry about that.
Where can I find some patterns for your macrame plant hangers (like the ones pic here…April and May of 2011)?
Hi Carol!
In the top photo showing the plant hangers I tied in April 2011, the name of the plant hanger on the left is called “Little Girls in Blue.” It came from the pattern book named “Macrame For Country Living.” The designer is Sandy Dye and the book is from Plaid Enterprises, Inc. The number on the book is #8273.
The second plant hanger shown on the right in the same picture is named “La Betise.” It can be found in the book titled “Macrame Elegance VI” on
page 15.
In the picture below, for plants hangers done in March 2011, that plant hanger was a special order plant hanger for a customer. I made that hanger by following a similar design from a plant hanger that my next door neighbor had hanging outside her door. I do not have a pattern for it. I was asked by the customer if I could tie her a hanger that looked just like one of our other neighbors. I studied the pattern carefully and took notes on how it was designed. I wanted to make the customer’s hanger nice and sturdy so it would last for a long time. The hanger that my neighbor had was tied with hemp rope. I am NOT a fan of hemp rope and do not like to tie with it!
Thank you for your questions. I hope my answer was helpful for you.
Will you please expound on why you don’t like hemp rope? I was going to use hemp….
Maybe sisal/jute rope???
I just don’t want that nylon stuff….
Thank you.
Hi

Bailassan,
You would have to send them directly to Donna because this is her blog. I’m sure she will get in touch to let you know how. I am anxious to see your work! = )
Absolutely!! Send away. You can find my e-mail address in my right sidebar. —->
Thanks, Tanya. (I can’t wait to see what she made, too!!)
