I personally call it twitter not as some dunk on Elon but because I feel dumb calling it X; the name is dumb and playing along feels dumb; if he’d given it a proper name instead of a letter I may be inclined to call it that, but he literally just named it a letter
I agree but don’t do it consistently because I do find the name just unbearably cringe, its embarrassing to say. I don’t have the emotional attachment to “resist” elon musk by calling it twitter. But for those who do, I think that understanding that it is no longer what it once was is probably helpful for their grieving process.
In the ICJ court documents, it is still referred to as “X, the platform formerly known as twitter” which I find very funny. Imagine being a historian in 200 years trying to follow the plot from the scraps of internet that’s been archived.
