    Didn’t expect the actual article to say the hogs.

    They should definitely do that. Maybe as an actionable threat. Ratelimit+Paywall unless we reach our funding goals through sponsorships.

      The majority of this is from AI hyperscalers. They couldn’t stop at stealing everyone’s work, now they’re getting open source distribution platforms.

      This is likely because they’re pulling from the repo every time they want to run a bit of code as part of a query.

        I’d have guessed that most of the bandwidth is CI builds without dependency caching.

        He detailed extreme examples, such as large organizations downloading the same 10,000 components a million times each month.
