My wife tells me that’s what attracted her to me. She said I could hold a conversation and listen.
Which is also what attracted me to her. She could talk and had her own mind. “Treat each other like humans” seems like an easy ask but I apparently scooped up the best wife ever because nobody had done that before.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but like you… Money.

I have a Mirage G4. It has a five speed transmission. It does not have internet connectivity, it doesn’t have a touchscreen, it doesn’t have keyless ignition, it doesn’t even have a fourth cylinder. It’s as reliable as a hammer, it still gets me over 40 mpg, and it’s paid for.
Dream vehicle? Any motorcycle. I have one, and I ride it sometimes, but I have a family that cares I’m alive and a lot of you seem to need a phone in your face to drive a car…

I have a feeling that there is or will be a water-borne version of a shahed drone. Something small and cheap and mobile vs big expensive high tech ships.

Right, they give up before they try.

Oh definitely don’t want to leave the eggs. You’ll end up with chickens that eat eggs.

Having a couple dozen chickens is much different than having 500,000 chickens.
I’ve felt that but I haven’t really put it into words. My flock of modern dinosaurs gets to run around and eat all the ticks while standing in the sun and digging in the dirt. I’ve never had chickens before these, and the thing that surprised me is that they aren’t mindless balls of feathers. They have personalities. They communicate. They make lots of dinosaur noises too.

I’ve been reading about meat chickens, and you’re pretty much right. They grow for about 8 weeks, and then they’re bound for the nugget factory. If you try to keep them after that they aren’t healthy or happy at all.
Border collies are cool. Dad has one. We are into archery, and our range is next to the yard where the pup lives. That dog is intent on those arrows. She can’t catch one, they’re too fast, but she tries every time. She stares at the arrow on the bow, and when we shoot she will take a couple of steps toward the arrow as it flies, and then gives up at stares down the next arrow. She’s also fun with radio controlled cars.
Found out this morning that my supervisor can’t afford to drive to work. He has a big truck and a long drive but… It’s already happening.

Just as you say, the people who are doing the actual work aren’t driving a Tesla to the machine shop/grocery store/concrete plant/wherever they work. And in most of the US, public transportation is a complete joke.

Yes another non-answer.

Interesting development this morning. My supervisor isn’t here. He drives a big diesel truck ~40 miles/65 km to work. The truck allegedly gets 22 mpg. Diesel is $5 per gallon now. A little bit of math tells me it’s about $20 just to drive to work and back each day, not counting any tolls.
I’m sure it’s nothing.

“Americans, why haven’t you built a parallel system that can take on the strongest military in the world yet? It’s been over a year.”
Edit: see what I mean?

“We can’t tackle government lobbying, the lobbyists bribed us not to.”

8 that they will admit to, anyway.
I dunno, right now I’m in an office with four dogs, one of which has been trained to shut up occasionally. Maybe it’s the owners who are the problem…
Tell me you haven’t been to goodwill lately without telling me

It will get the attention of the parasite class when nobody can afford to drive to work. There aren’t enough electric car owners to keep the economy going.
My FIL just knew that the covid shots were going to kill my wife and I. The goalposts kept moving after we survived each alleged length of time without dying. Last one was “You’ll die in 30 years because of the covid vaccine”.
Wtf? I ride a motorcycle. And I’m in my 40’s. I spend time in small aircraft sometimes. I’m 100% positive I’ll die in the next 30 years from something.
Edit: My rambling inebriated comment reminded me that I’ve somehow managed to avoid covid completely. I’ve either never had it, or it was such a mild case that I didn’t even notice. Thanks vaccines, I get to die in 30 years instead of a few years ago.
