2·11 hours agoidk about this version of Sinbad, but we recently watched “The Golden Voyage of Sinbad” on a mastodon watch party, and most of the free links to the movie should still be active. “Golden Voyage” has some killer stop-motion action.

Truly, the highest qualification and a position of pride. I aspire to that but I’m still just a dork.
Dark Carnival
Woah! that’s a central concept in the mythology of Insane Clown Posse! I gotta find out more about that. Actually I’ll probably take a look at some of those movies first.

It will only be open to billionaires. Or to people there to make money for billionaires. That’s why I’m not excited.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the fantasy book/series everyone should read?English
10·3 days agoI don’t really like manga, but one of the best stories I’ve ever read in any format is the 7-volume Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. It’s post-apocalyptic fantasy about the nature of evil, the corruption of humanity, the extent to which individuals can fight against historical forces, and the fragility of civilization, for a start. Plus there’s a lot of action and world-building. There’s an anime movie which covers about one tenth of the story, if you want to get a feel for it.

2·3 days agoRecently I’ve been thinking one of the best things Alan Moore has written is the original 12-issue series Top 10. It just has certain characters and events that stuck in my mind.

Seems like it could be cool, or it could be just a bunch of cliches. hard to tell so far.
