No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•What is your favorite bedtime story or music/spoken audio that you like to go to sleep to?
4·24 天前well - when my son was born, i bought the album “Until the Light of Morning” by Essie Jain. it’s a truly lovely album, and in my opinion wonderful to drift off to.
i haven’t listened to it in years. my son is in grade 9 now, and if was to put this on, he would roll his eyes. i know we ALL rolled our eyes at everything at that age, and i also know that deep down he loves this album too! :)

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Canadians have gone from global rail leaders to primitive laggards. They are spending all their money on car infrastructure while their rail system decaysEnglish
131·1 个月前i am genuinely unsurprised that more money is being spent on car infrastructure. our government here is basically run by the big corporations. (no matter which party is in charge)
and you can’t spell “pedophile tantrums” without “President Donald John Trump”

cats. those things are the jerks of the animal kingdom! i love the two that i have, but they are such deliberate assholes
howl constantly until you open the door for them, then they just walk away. they didn’t actually want to go in… they simply wanted the OPTION of going in.

15·3 个月前well - considering the “assassination attempt” on Trump, and how anyone speaking against the regime is a “domestic terrorist,” my money is on the idea that very soon there will be some ICE agents that have an encounter with “ANTIFA thugs,” and this is where martial law will be declared.
Trump is insane right now, and he is big mad that he’s not getting his way in Switzerland; he’s getting bullied right back, and he’s starting to see that people are laughing at him.
lately i have been working on building a Raspberry Pi cluster, but i have been stuck trying to 3D print that doesn’t come out correctly, so i have Apr the last week working on calibration and printing a bunch of useless crap!

Left News Wire@ibbit.at•Trump Is Breaking His Word on Credit Card Regulation
1·3 个月前“regulators argued the law cuts into credit card companies’ profit margins” this is 100% correct
“forcing lenders to be more selective in extending credit to borrowers” which is 100% untrue. this is like saying ‘we are not making as much money, so we are gonna reduce how much money we make even further’
i am certain that in order to satisfy the C-Suite’s need for bonuses, and to also satisfy the ever greedy shareholders’ need for increased profit, they will actually start being LESS choosy about who “qualifies” for a credit card, and start handing out more of them.
who knows - maybe it would also have an impact on the mortgage scene, and people who have been paying rent on time for over a decade would finally qualify for a mortgage that is less than their rent payment…
do you mean that the cat is going crazy for MY elbows? or they are going crazy for their OWN elbows?
well - Wikipedia seems to disagree, and says “common definitions include “the utterance of words or sounds in tuneful succession””
and that was just the first place i looked.
but humming counts as singing, doesn’t it? which means that you COULD sing without vowels

oof!
