What replaced what
- Sonnet 5 replaced Sonnet 4.6 as the default Sonnet (30 June 2026). Intro $2/$10 was made permanent on the Sonnet 5 announcement.
- Opus 5 replaced Opus 4.8 as the current Opus (24 July 2026) at the same $5/$25.
- Fable 5.1 (1 Sept 2026) sits above Opus; Fable 5 remains listed at the same $10/$50 with higher cache-hit cost than 5.1.
- Original Claude 4 / 4.0 date-stamped strings (20250514) were the June 15, 2026 retirement class. Do not put those in new code.
