4·3 months agoYou jest, but China produces everything on the quality spectrum, from garbage to great stuff. We’ve literally ceded all manufacturing to them. Also, the cheap trash from Temu or Shein is going to be taking a flight
That’s mostly a matter of regulation though - there’s no necessity for this type of fuel to be used in shipping, other types of combustion fuel would work fine, but this type of fuel just so happens to be really cheap because no one else wants it.
We could ban it, and shipping would still be basically completely fine.
That being said, we should still aim for electrification, but electrification is not a prerequisite to phase out HFO
It doesnt stay open, its in the way, and it doesnt even prevent you from just ripping it off and throwing away the lid.
Just fold it back until it hits the point where it locks?

I’d be happy if there actually was any snow, then it gets bright and pleasant outside. Around 0 C and rainy is way, way worse, especially given the very limited hours of sunlight.

You’re going to be sabotaging yourself if you don’t use Android Studio.
We get encouraged to try out AI tools for various purposes to see where we can find value out of them, if any. There are some use-cases where the tech makes sense when wielded correctly, and in those cases I make use of it. In other cases, I don’t.
So far, I suspect we may be striking a decent balance. I have however noticed a concern trend of people copy-pasting unfiltered slop as a response to various scenarios, which is obviously not helpful.
Non-engineering positions
Big tech pays large amounts of money. This is why people choose to work there.
