The front fell off.

The front fell off.
I’ve known people who have had the same issue and they not only turn it neon green but turn on mouse trails to an extreme degree. If you draw a little circle with your hand it’s very easy to spot.

I was about to bring this up. If they just removed all of the slop they implemented in the past 6 months, they could hit that 20% real easy.

I am fully against drinking and driving, but there is definitely some bullshit out there like getting locked up for sleeping it off in your car. I’ve read plenty of stories about people getting arrested for merely approaching their car while drunk, and that shit gets me paranoid. I live in a place where I park on a busy street, and there have been times that I am having some drinks at home and I’m like “shit I gotta go get this thing from my car”. The fact that I can get arrested while going to get my backpack or whatever from my car because I have keys in my pocket and therefore have “intent to operate a vehicle under in influence” doesn’t sit well with me. Go find actual drunk drivers. I swear half the shit cops do is making up crimes because they can’t meet their quotas.

So… Just tell them that it’s illegal for them to drive? Kind of like how we tell them that it’s illegal to drink and drive but they did that anyway? The point of the lock is that it’s for people who are going to ignore the law anyway. Not having a license does not stop somebody from operating a motor vehicle.

Not-so hot take: the underlying issue is lack of public transportation.
Yeah it’s so fucking backwards. I should be considered a patriot. I want Americans to have access to Healthcare and education. I want Americans to thrive and do great things. But no… Apparently the definition of patriotism over here is “I don’t care about other people, I only care about me, and also, kill brown people in other countries”

I read the entire article looking for this and couldn’t find anything and I’m so confused. Did they mean to say “Selling weapons and sex dolls resembling children”?
Or are we literally talking about Desert Eagle Fleshlights?
Edit: I just realized that “Selling weapons and sex dolls resembling children” is equally as confusing. The weapons resemble children? A Glock 9mm-year-old
There was a post here somewhere about how younger generations are just using phones to make large purchases and it is baffling to us old folk. I felt so seen.
Like… If I am booking a flight, or a hotel, or buying an appliance, or electronic etc. That’s a computer purchase. I need multiple windows, tabs, and monitors. I need to be weighing options and doing research with side-by-side comparisons. I can’t do that on a phone. These younglings are doing stuff like that from a phone, and I can’t wrap my head around it.

So let me get this straight. Companies were like “instead of paying one senior dev 300k and 5 junior devs 150k, we can get rid of all the junior devs and give the senior dev AI to do all of the legwork thus saving us 750k.”
And then they found out that AI costs money. So instead of ponying up the 100k in tokens for the senior dev to to their job, they are saying “Hey senior dev, we are taking away your bonus and replacing it with tokens! You can take it or be out of a job, because we refuse to keep anybody on board who doesn’t use AI to replace 5 junior devs”
So these cheap fucks saved 750k, and are upset with the fact that they might only save 650k?
While also destroying the planet to generate shitty code.
I fucking hate this time line.
I didn’t realize for way too long that the song “Ironic” had no actual examples of irony in it, and that in itself is ironic. Blew my mind.

I would love to go back in time and show this to somebody who worked at the Nintendo Power Tip Hotline. They would be all like “oh shit, AI is going to take our jobs in the future?” not knowing that their jobs were replaced decades ago by autistic people with dial-up internet making GameFAQs txt files.

AI or not, I feel like everybody has had “the incident” at some point. After that, you obsessively keep backups.
For me it was a my entire “Junior Project” in college, which was a music album. My windows install (Vista at that time - I know, vista was awful, but it was the only thing that would utilize all 8gb of my RAM because x64 XP wasn’t really a thing) bombed out, and I was like “no biggie, I keep my OS on one drive and all of my projects on the other, I’ll just reformat and reinstall Windows”
Well… I had two identical 250gb drives and formatted the wrong one.
Woof.
I bought an unformat tool that was able to recover mostly everything, but I lost all of my folder structure and file names. It was just like 000001.wav, 000002.wav etc. I was able to re-record and rebuild but man… Never made that mistake again. Like I said. I now obsessively backup. Stacks of drives, cloud storage. Drives in divverent locations etc.
They left out the apostrophes and dropped an “L”
It’s about a crisis that America has been coping with for a while.
Fent an’ y’all
It’s a TV show about a dog named Fenton (or Fent, as they call him) who is also a cowboy that is a hero of his community. It’s a spinoff of the show “Heroine” which was about a female superhero who had the ability to save people by miraculasly removing any pain that they felt. But it got kind of too dark when people started depending on her to be there and couldn’t survive without her. The public didn’t respond well.
Anyway, there was another spinoff of the show Heroine called “Purdue and You” about a similar hero named “Oxy”, and it was basically just the same plot of Heroine but a little bit more family friendly and the audience seemed to accept it more even though it was the same thing.
So now “Fent an’ Ya’ll” is kind of building on the popularity of both of those shows, but it’s just got much more impact. It’s like each episode feels 100x stronger. You’ll feel love, you’ll feel joy, and it might just leave you standing there doubled over. People are hooked.

The only real case I can think of where people like thin clients is when they move between stations. I worked at a hospital that used them and it was a fantastic solution. A doctor/nurse/whatever could walk up to any station, beep their ID, and a couple second later their session would load up. It was a huge pain in the ass to build and maintain though. These new devices might actually have a benefit there. Managing W365 through Azure/Intune is leagues easier than managing Citrix with Windows VM pools.

Yeah I was gonna say. Dell has been making Wyse Thin Clients for a long ass time. This isn’t anything particularly new other than using W365.

So instead we get gigantic investment funds spinning up hundreds of LLCs named things like BRIIINKLW like those shitty Amazon brands. They funnel each one of them 140m, and control a bunch of small individual businesses through an “outsourced” MSP that handles all of the business side and is also owned by them, but because they don’t own the properties or the assets, it doesn’t matter. Money gets funneled the way money gets funneled, through investments and donations etc.
Glad somebody else posted it. Glad it still exists. Some of the internet is still hilarious and amazing.
