Memes@sopuli.xyz•Good luck figuring it out since it also doesn’t come with man pages
1·8 days agoYeah agree
It’s a fucking fox, why does it need to have a specific gender? It was genderless by default they don’t need to announce it one way or another, other than to pander to people.

Technology@lemmy.world•Dad stuck in support nightmare after teen lied about age on Discord- Ars TechnicaEnglish
11·8 days agoAny company using AI support is absolutely fucked in the head imo. It’s absolute dogshit.
I had a phone company where I had to call to add a new sim to my account because my previous phone was stolen and the fucking AI says “we have sent you a link via text or how to add a sim. Thank you, good bye.” And it fucking hung up on me.
I didn’t have the phone to get the text because it had been stolen!
Not sure how I feel about your downvotes. Do that many people just automatically downvotes at a joke without even realizing it’s a joke on the name?
If it will eventually be possible to travel to a new planet or mine other planets and asteroids for materials instead of destroying our own planet, than absolutely it’s worth it.
If that’s all a pipe dream than space exploration is really just a waste of money.

Electric Vehicles@slrpnk.net•An electric farm, an electric harvest …. electric everything
1·15 days agoI wonder if you would be able to design farm implements in a way where battery swaps are necessary but you have like a trailer type situation where there’s like 10 batteries you can pull to the field with your tractor and then when needing to “top up” you just drive to the trailer to swap out. Then over night all ten batteries get charged. Or throughout the day you have a second trailer charging another ten batteries for continuous 24h operation.
It would be a fair bit of upfront investment but farm implements always are, and you would save on all the fuel required and having to deliver and store it.

201·15 days agoI can see the purpose when done correctly but that would mean maybe a 3-5 year protection to give you a headstart on the competition not 20+ years of monopoly and stagnation.

Only 600 more points and it will be lower than when trump too office last year, all gains lost.
“existing for no clear reason”
So like every other life form we know of?

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•College core: you sit in the class for attendance then go home and teach yourself
18·25 days agoThis was my economics course. The professor would come in, play the textbook manufacturer provided PowerPoint on the screen, and read the slides word for word with little to no elaboration. It was the most boring course I had ever taken.
Had perfect attendance and got 55% on my midterm.
Gave up, skipped almost all of my classes to instead just sit in the library and study on my own.
Got about 87% on my final exam.
Mandatory attendance is stupid, if you can pass the course you can pass the course.

36·1 month agoI don’t think they care if it’s gambling or not.
They are trying to make the point that they shouldn’t be targetted if other obvious known sources of illegal gambling are being actively ignored.
Either they need to go after everyone or no one. Since going after everyone is probably unlikely, targeting Valve for it would be unfair and may be dismissed.

News@lemmy.world•Trump looks increasingly desperate to restrict voting rights
11·1 month agoIt’s curious why they would want to implement this because although it affects poor people, it would probably also disproportionately affect poor Republicans.
Many voters in states like Mississippi/Arkansas do not have passports because they are both poor and have no intention to travel internationally so don’t bother with passports.

Australia@aussie.zone•40% of teenage boys believe women lie about domestic and sexual violence: new researchEnglish
91·2 months agoYeah I’m curious how it was asked.
Cause of course women get abused that 100% is true, but there are definitely some women who lie about it. How many? Who knows. I would like to say only a few but I have no data to support it, I can only say it’s most likely non-zero.

Fuck!

There will be dozens if not hundreds or thousands of people who legitimately review that jug of milk for Walmart for free.
