  • Light or Chemical pollution will cause blue and green washing of nighttime photos.

    Light pollution messes with your camera’s white and black balance settings. Similarly, airglow (natural light in the upper atmosphere) will also cause this, but usually only during long exposure shots or in the 3 hours near dawn.

    Chemical pollution on yhe other hand can cause the entire spectrum of colors to show in nightime shots. Every chemical has a color signature.
