at a local shop
I’ve never even heard of Halti, let alone seen one in a store.
Around these parts, if you want a blank running shoe, you pay $20 at the local superstore then $200 at the doctor’s office, a few times a year each.

News@lemmy.world•If leaders stay silent, the US won’t survive Trump’s next 100 days | Robert Reich
2·1 year agoI don’t think that’s a serious campaign, but it is pretty funny.
Trump says he wants to buy Greenland (from Denmark), bewildering, insulting, and angering Denmark, so these people have put together an equally absurd offer for Trump.
Nice.

Seems like you fell for it.
Even if they were to completely back out now, that doesn’t look great, but is still probably not enough data to show a trend.
Now that many are reliant on “just-in-time” strategies, supply lines are not nearly as resilient to large trade fluctuations as they used to be, but the spike does mostly match the dip, and could be simply explained as exporters just trying to beat the tariffs by sending product early.
Now if the weeks after are also low… That’s another story.
brb, gonna run a marathon in a pair of Oxfords
Sure, but good luck finding a decent quality running shoe without conspicuous branding at a local shop though.
Can’t wear it, if they don’t make it.

Lmao
Imagine always having a reliable internet connection at a fraction of the cost.
Civilized countries have already figured this out.
Yes, but less online tracking is still a good thing exactly because of all those people who revel in hate.
The internet and web browsers are critical to modern everyday life. Even Grandma isn’t paying her bills through the mail anymore.

3·1 year agoA factually true story can still be propaganda. And yes, the right is actually constantly masturbating to stories like this.
“All these spoiled rotten kids think they’re entitled to all these handouts! Back in my day… we got a tiny piece of cheese and if we asked for more, we got beat! Parents these days are all so soft and…” etc, etc.
I literally hear this shit every day, all day.
Just because you might exist in an echo chamber, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
