Same here. I have 80-90 Mbps download with up to 20 Mbps upload max at best conditions. Still better than no internet.

I’ve been hearing about this TempleOS a lot lately. You might try that maybe?
I’m on Tumbleweed for years with no major issues. I messed it up couple times myself (switching to Wayland and also pipewire among others) but there’s Snapper to save my ass. To see the update bork the system? Happened once I believe. Also solved by snapper and waiting a week.
Sure, updates are available almost daily, but they’re not forced. I update when I have time/will. Sometimes twice a week sometimes after months. Still solid.

It feels like he’d come back anytime soon and say “gotcha mfers”…

I didn’t know about ctrl+pgdn, but even if I did, it’s impossible to do it left handed without lifting right hand from mouse or left hand from usual placement.
As far as OS goes, I barely ever use alt+tab. I almost completely switched to Meta+ number keys where I have pinned windows I use the most. Alternatively I do meta+tab to show KDE overview.

For me it’s preferred this way. I have plenty of tabs open, often switch between multiple of them and when I tried to use “switch to last used” I got confused almost instantly. I just kept losing track of where I was and what I wanted and what will be “last one” next time.
The default way I always see tab bar and know exactly where ctrl+(shift+)tab will get me and what is next/last.

Because you’re not spoon fed by algorithm on mastodon. People these days apparently want to see “cool shit” without actually doing anything on their own.

Second? No, no, no, … They’re way past that number.

Maybe it is a wasted weapon, but is it really a waste? Can weapon be considered wasted?

There’s also Netbird, worth checking out.

Well, e. g. unused weapon is not really waste, is it?
Yes, unfortunately I have a windows laptop that has to stay on windows.
Don’t worry about me, I’ll definitely break a lot of things in the process :-)
OK, I’ll see. I have a tiny bit of exposure to Proxmox at work so I know it’s not easy, but since it will be my HW I can fuck it up as much as I want without getting fired :-)
My thought process of OMV vs TrueNAS is that TrueNAS might be a little bit overkill when the only thing I’d want is to share the space (either NFS or SMB). I had to upgrade the RAM in the Asustor just to install it in the first place…
Thank you. I’ll see how my free time will look and how far and how fast I’ll progress.
OK, good.
Do you see any reason not to use SMB in my case or is it just NFS 'cause it’s propper linux thing?
I’ll see what I can do once I manage to spin the Proxmox up. Thank you for heads up.
I meant less confident like I am not confident enough to run it properly. Setting it up with zero experience with how it works or how ZFS works was quite intimidating for me.
How do you share the storage with Proxmox? NFS or SMB/CIFS? Do you access stored data only through Proxmox or do you also connect to Truenas directly?
Or if you enjoy the idea…
That sucks, honestly.
