Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Australians banned teens from using social media. Now, Australians are worried about teenagers going outside with e-bikesEnglish
122·2 months agoThe article has nothing to do with social media, the only mention of it is how adults put a comment on FB about antisocial behaviour of ebike riders. And clearly the clip of ripping up a golf course is antisocial. So actually the issue is, like in the UK, illegal emotorbikes that people should be prosecuted for.
I wonder how this is implemented in LMDE?
Or as I put it to the younger guys at work, “she’s probably thinking ‘he’s nice, I bet my mum/gran would like him’ “

Corporate installs have constant updates, mandated by the IT department, not by the user. I can’t get through the start or end of a work day without the twirling dots waiting animation.
British English took over for me, It was ‘obviously’;
Soldier, bushing, varnish.
Seal, seal, seal.
Couldn’t work out why the top row was with the bottom row at all.
(There are no ‘navy seals’ to us, it’s SBS - special boat service, like SAS but bad-asser, and more secret?)

4·7 months agoI would have done this, but set up ‘meshnet’ to make the remote computers look like they’re all on the same network, but nordvpn just pulled the plug on meshnet and are decommissioning it in December. Goodbye
Makes no difference it’s still called what it’s called here, you can call it what you like, because you will anyway.
Clearly it’s a ‘sack-truck’ but then UK and US are nations divided by a common language.
You’re violently agreeing again! The point “the common misconception” comment was making was this; it’s common mistake to think HR are there for the employee. HR is to protect the company from employees. They hire and fire as required. There’s only loyalty to the company.
