About Website Launches

The internet needs a more reliable way to understand what's real. Website Launches is building that — starting at the moment a site appears and following it as it evolves.

Our Mission

The goal of Website Launches is to help people understand which sites they can trust on the web. We keep a living record of every site launched on the internet since we started in September 2025.

A launch record shows information about the site's launch, the site's owner for claimed sites, and the basic purpose and goals of the site. The launch record grows with milestones as the site stays online over time, including 3 months, 9 months, and 1 year. We also archive a snapshot of the site at launch, then at 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and yearly moving forward.

This allows visitors to look up a launch record and quickly understand how long a site, business, or project has been online, providing a strong signal for whether a site can be trusted.

We also integrate a community and discovery element into every launch record and site listing, allowing anyone in the Website Launches community to upvote or downvote a site and leave comments or reviews. This helps build trust over time. The voting system also allows us to surface interesting new projects, businesses, and organizations that deserve attention when they launch.

We encourage site owners to claim their site listing and launch record, as it allows them to fully manage and verify their listing details. It also lets them publicly tie ownership of the site to the listing, providing transparency and trust signals to people viewing the launch record.

We also offer a number of site owner benefits when a listing is claimed, including the ability to install a dated launch badge on their website that links to the launch record, giving visitors a trusted source to verify when the site was established.

Additionally, we offer site owner tools that help ensure a successful launch. Once a site is claimed, the site owner gets access to a launch dashboard. This dashboard runs a number of checks to help ensure the site is launch-ready and that its site health is solid. These checks include performance checks, content quality checks, site structure and linking, on-page SEO, cross-device compatibility, on-site trust signals, and basic monitoring to ensure sites do not go offline for long periods of time.

The launch dashboard also offers Google index status and recommendations for how to build a stronger online presence, drive traffic, and attract customers.

Our Products

Website Launches generates revenue through two core products.

The first is a Pro Listing, specifically made for professional business websites. A Pro Listing is an enhanced listing that allows site owners to add a visual gallery to their listing so visitors can quickly see and understand their business and the work they do. The Pro Listing also includes additional listing features like social profile links, taglines, feature bullet points, and more.

Our second product offering is Website Monitoring. For every launched site and launch record, we track basic online status and indicate whether a site has stayed online for various periods of time. However, these checks are infrequent, happening about every two weeks per site.

We offer a higher-quality site monitoring service for business-critical websites that lets the site owner know if there are any issues with the site in near real time.

Our Long-Term Goal

Our long-term goal at Website Launches is simple: we want to build a website launch registry for the internet. A trusted place where people can go to see when a site launched and get a better idea of whether the site can or should be trusted.

Our Team

Website Launches was started in September 2025 by software engineer Taylor Hawkes, and the team is still small — quite small, but hopefully growing soon.

Founder & Developer

Taylor is a longtime software developer and engineer. He has been coding away at various projects for over 20 years. He previously founded RingRoost, a telecommunications platform for small businesses, and more recently Grepper, a code-sharing platform for software developers. Now, he is going ham to get Website Launches up and running.

Taylor likes to spend his free time programming, but since he is married with two young kids, he has to do other stuff too. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, rock climbing, rolling jiu-jitsu, playing piano, losing at chess, getting trash-talked by 12-year-olds in StarCraft II, watching Larry David, cold plunging, and generally following the Joe Rogan fitness lifestyle.
