๐งโ๐ป Hirist Jobs Scraper: IT Roles, Salary & AmbitionBox Rating ยท From $3/1k
What does Hirist Jobs Scraper do?
It turns a Hirist.tech search or category browse into structured IT job data. Give it a keyword like java developer, or one of Hirist's 12 tech categories, and you get clean JSON rows: title, company, salary in lakhs per annum when disclosed, skills, experience band, apply count and the company's live AmbitionBox rating. Hirist is India's IT-specific job board, part of the same group as Instahyre, and unlike Instahyre its listings are fully public with no login wall.
โ No login required | โ No cookies | โ Pay only for delivered jobs | โ MCP-ready for AI agents
Who is it for?
Tech recruiters and staffing agencies sourcing candidates for IT-specific roles across backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, AI/ML and seven other categories. Competitive-intelligence teams tracking how hard a competitor is hiring, and in which function. Sourcing tools and ATS integrators that want salary, skills and a live company rating combined in one feed rather than stitched together from three sources.
How much does it cost to scrape Hirist jobs?
You pay per job actually delivered. Nothing else: no subscription, no seat licence, no monthly minimum.
| Apify plan | Price per 1,000 jobs |
|---|---|
| Free | $5.00 |
| Bronze | $4.20 |
| Silver | $3.55 |
| Gold and above | $3.00 |
The Pricing tab on this page is the single source of truth and always shows the rate for your own plan. If this table and the Pricing tab ever disagree, the Pricing tab is right.
What a real pull costs. Apify's Free plan includes $5 of usage credit every month, roughly 1,000 Hirist jobs a month at no cost to you. A 500-job pull costs about $1.50 on Gold. A 3,000-job category sweep costs about $9.00 on Gold.
What is never charged. Empty searches, blocked pages and failed requests cost nothing. The charge event fires only once a job record is validated and stored in your dataset.
How does it work?
Hirist.tech (hirist.com redirects here) is a Next.js app whose search UI calls its own public JSON API at gladiator.hirist.tech/job/*, the exact host and paths the browser's own network tab shows. The actor calls that API directly: no login, no cookies, no browser. You can search two ways, and combine them: keyword search (free text against titles, skills and descriptions) and category browse (one of Hirist's 12 tech categories, from Backend Development to CyberSecurity), either alone or together.
Location names and category slugs are resolved to Hirist's own internal numeric IDs through lookup tables built from the live site, covering roughly 147 city, state and Gulf/international entries plus the 12 categories. An unrecognized name is logged and skipped rather than silently mismatched or failing the whole run. When both keyword and categorySlug are left empty, the actor defaults internally to the Backend Development category rather than attempting an unfiltered walk of the entire site.
Every record carries the job title, company name, its live AmbitionBox rating and review count where Hirist publishes one, all locations, the full skills and tags list, the experience band, salary in lakhs per annum when the poster has not hidden it, apply count, and the posting timestamp. Turn on includeJobDescription to also fetch the job's detail page for its introductory description text, one extra request per job, so it is off by default to keep runs fast. A run-level spend guard estimates cost against revenue as it goes and stops the run rather than continuing to pay for a target that has started failing.
๐งพ What input does it take?
{"keyword": "java developer","locations": ["Bangalore", "Hyderabad"],"experienceMinYears": 3,"experienceMaxYears": 8,"maxJobs": 25,"includeJobDescription": false}
| Input | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
keyword | No | Free-text job search, e.g. java developer. Leave empty to browse a category instead |
categorySlug | No | One of Hirist's 12 category slugs. Combines with keyword if both are set, or is used alone as the browse mode |
locations | No | City, state or country names, e.g. Bangalore, Remote. Leave empty for all locations |
experienceMinYears / experienceMaxYears | No | Years-of-experience band |
postedWithinDays | No | Only jobs posted within the last N days |
maxJobs | No | Maximum jobs to return across all pages. Default 30 |
includeJobDescription | No | Fetch the introductory description text per job (adds one request per job) |
proxyConfiguration | No | Apify's default proxy is enough for this public, unauthenticated API |
๐ค What data do you get back?
Real record shapes from live runs against keyword: "java developer" and category browse, showing the combinations you actually see: salary and AmbitionBox rating both present, both absent, and includeJobDescription: true:
[{"job_id": "1659265","title": "Capgemini - Java Developer - Microservices Architecture","company": "Capgemini Technology Services","company_rating": 3.6,"company_reviews_count": 55203,"locations": ["Bangalore"],"remote": false,"category_id": 1,"skills": ["Java", "Backend Architecture", "J2EE", "Spring Boot", "Spring Frameworks", "RESTful API", "JSP", "Microservices Architecture", "OOPS", "MVC", "Webservices"],"experience_min_years": 6,"experience_max_years": 11,"salary_min_lpa": 18,"salary_max_lpa": 28,"apply_count": 193,"premium": true,"posted_at": "2026-08-30T10:54:48.937Z","url": "https://www.hirist.tech/j/capgemini-java-developer-microservices-architecture-1659265","scraped_at": "2026-09-09T18:10:10.573Z"},{"job_id": "1660102","title": "DevOps Engineer - Kubernetes and AWS","company": "Zeta Suite Technologies","locations": ["Hyderabad", "Remote"],"remote": true,"category_id": 4,"skills": ["Kubernetes", "AWS", "Terraform", "Docker", "CI/CD", "Jenkins"],"experience_min_years": 3,"experience_max_years": 6,"apply_count": 41,"premium": false,"posted_at": "2026-09-08T09:15:22.140Z","url": "https://www.hirist.tech/j/zeta-suite-technologies-devops-engineer-kubernetes-aws-1660102","scraped_at": "2026-09-09T18:11:03.221Z"},{"job_id": "1658790","title": "QA Automation Lead - Selenium and API Testing","company": "Persistent Systems","company_rating": 3.9,"company_reviews_count": 12480,"locations": ["Pune"],"remote": false,"category_id": 7,"skills": ["Selenium", "API Testing", "Python", "Test Automation Framework", "Jenkins"],"experience_min_years": 7,"experience_max_years": 12,"salary_min_lpa": 22,"salary_max_lpa": 32,"apply_count": 88,"premium": true,"posted_at": "2026-09-06T07:40:11.902Z","url": "https://www.hirist.tech/j/persistent-systems-qa-automation-lead-selenium-api-testing-1658790","scraped_at": "2026-09-09T18:12:47.309Z","description": "Persistent Systems is looking for a QA Automation Lead to own test strategy across our API and UI test suites."}]
Every job record contains these fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
๐ job_id | Hirist's internal job ID |
๐ title | Job title |
๐ข company | Employer name |
โญ company_rating / company_reviews_count | Live AmbitionBox rating and review count, present when Hirist has one on file |
๐ locations | Array of job locations |
๐ remote | True if marked work-from-home |
๐ญ category_id | Hirist's internal category ID |
๐ ๏ธ skills | Tagged skills and keywords as an array |
โ experience_min_years / experience_max_years | Years of experience required |
๐ต salary_min_lpa / salary_max_lpa | Salary in lakhs per annum. Present only when the poster has not hidden it |
๐ฅ apply_count | Applicant count Hirist reports |
๐ premium | Whether Hirist marks the listing as a premium/featured post |
๐๏ธ posted_at | ISO timestamp the job was posted |
๐ url | URL to the Hirist job listing |
๐ scraped_at | ISO timestamp the record was captured |
๐ description | Introductory description text, truncated to 4,000 characters. Present only when includeJobDescription: true |
Any field Hirist did not return for a given job, most commonly salary or the AmbitionBox rating when the company has none on file, is dropped from the record rather than sent as null, exactly like the second record above.
What are the limitations?
Worth knowing before you buy, so there are no surprises:
- Categories are fixed to Hirist's own 12. A
categorySlugoutside that set is ignored with a warning rather than mapped to something close. - Locations resolve from a curated name list. An unrecognized city, state or country name is skipped with a warning rather than failing the run, so a typo silently drops that location filter instead of erroring loudly.
- Salary shows only when the poster discloses it. When hidden,
salary_min_lpa/salary_max_lpaare absent, not zero. - Full description text costs an extra request.
includeJobDescriptionfetches each job's detail page separately, so it is off by default for speed, and the text is capped at 4,000 characters. - Empty filters default to one category, not the whole site. With no
keywordand nocategorySlug, the actor browses Backend Development rather than attempting to walk every listing on Hirist. - A run-level spend guard can end the run early. If Hirist starts failing heavily mid-run, the guard stops paying for further attempts once estimated cost would exceed revenue, so a genuinely blocked run may return fewer than
maxJobs.
๐ผ What can you use it for?
India tech talent-demand analysis. skills is a structured tag array, not free text, so you can count real demand per technology without running NLP over job descriptions.
Salary benchmarking by seniority. salary_min_lpa/salary_max_lpa and the experience band are both numeric, turning compensation-versus-seniority analysis into a straightforward groupby.
Recruiter sourcing lists. Filter by category, location and experience band to build a target list of companies actively hiring for a specific skill set.
Company hiring-signal tracking. apply_count alongside the live AmbitionBox rating lets you flag companies that are both hiring hard and well-rated, a useful growth signal.
๐ How do I get started?
- Open the actor and enter a
keyword, for examplejava developer, or pick acategorySlug. - Optionally add one or more
locations. - Optionally set an experience band and posting-freshness filter.
- Set
maxJobsto control cost. - Click Start. Download as JSON, CSV or Excel, or pull the dataset via API or MCP.
๐ Run on a schedule
Turn this from a one-off pull into a standing feed with Apify's built-in Schedules. No code, no cron server of your own.
- Run the actor once with the input you want repeated, then click Save as a task at the top of the run form. This keeps your exact input attached for every future run.
- In the Apify Console, go to Schedules in the left sidebar, then Create new.
- Name it, set your timezone, and pick a frequency: a preset (hourly, daily, weekly) or a cron expression such as
0 6 * * *for daily at 6am. - Under Actors or tasks to run, add the task you saved in step 1.
- Save. It then runs unattended, billed the same pay-per-job way as a manual run. Nothing is charged just for the schedule existing.
Or automate the setup itself via the API:
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/schedules?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"name":"hirist-jobs-daily","cronExpression":"0 6 * * *","isEnabled":true,"actions":[{"type":"RUN_ACTOR","actorId":"themineworks/hirist-jobs-scraper"}]}'
Full options, including time zones, run notifications and pausing, are in Apify's Schedules documentation.
Is scraping Hirist legal?
This actor reads only Hirist's public job search and category results, the same listings any visitor sees without logging in. It does not access any authenticated area and does not attempt to bypass any access control. If the results you pull include personal data, laws like the GDPR and CCPA may apply to how you store and use it, so collect only what you have a legitimate purpose for. This is general information, not legal advice, and you remain responsible for using the output in line with Hirist's own terms and the law that applies to you.
FAQ
Does it log in to Hirist? No. The actor calls Hirist's own public JSON API directly, the same one the site's search box and category pages call. No account, no cookies, no captcha.
Is this scraping HTML?
No. It calls the same public JSON API (gladiator.hirist.tech/job/search and /job/category/) that the site's own front end calls, which is why it needs no browser.
Can I search by keyword and category and location at once?
Yes. All three combine in a single request: keyword narrows the free-text match, categorySlug restricts to one of Hirist's 12 tech categories, and locations further restricts by city or state. experienceMinYears/experienceMaxYears and postedWithinDays layer on top of that.
Is salary always present? No. Many listings hide it. When Hirist publishes a band, the fields carry it in lakhs per annum. When it is hidden, both fields are simply absent from the record rather than showing as zero.
What does includeJobDescription cost me?
Nothing extra. You are only ever charged per delivered job record, never per HTTP request. It does make the run slower, one extra request per job, which is why it defaults to off.
