Australia’s oldest woman, Lorna Henstridge, celebrates her 110th birthday in Bordertown

Australia’s oldest woman turns 110-years-old today. She was born in Adelaide in 1914 and will celebrate the occasion this afternoon with her family.

00:00Lorna Henstridge lives here at this nursing home in Bordertown in South Australia's southeast.

00:07She's been here for about five years, but before that, for 60 years, she lived in Keith,

00:12also in South Australia's southeast.

00:14She was born in Adelaide in 1914 and met her husband, Alan, in World War II and set up

00:19a menswear store in Keith, where they lived together for a long time and had a big interest

00:24in sports.

00:25They've got three children and today, they'll be celebrating with them and grandchildren

00:31and great-grandchildren for Lorna's 110th birthday.

00:35I just keep on keeping on.

00:40I've always liked exercise, fresh air, interesting people and being active all the time.

00:50Lorna's daughter, Jenny Jacobs, was the Director of Nursing here at the Bordertown Hospital

00:55for a long time and she can't remember anyone as healthy as Lorna, even 10 years younger
