Trinbago Knight Riders were told to take first strike by Barbados Royals in the
00:05
Republic Bank CPL game at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
00:08
Mahesh Tikshana made a mess of Jason Roy's furniture and the batter fell for
00:12
a duck. When Nicholas Puran came to the wicket, his first delivery was stared to
00:17
the fence. But his cameo ended at 27 while Shakir Paris went for 5.
00:28
Casey Coarty and skipper Kyron Pollard had to then rebuild the innings. The two
00:35
had a partnership that was worth 70 for the fourth wicket. Coarty was gone for
00:43
32 giving Naveen Ul Haq his second scalp and Quinton de Kock his third catch.
00:48
In came Andrew Russell who kept smashing a wide cherry out of the park.
00:55
Pollard was out for 42 and Russell 31 with Tikshana grabbing three wickets.

Naveen Ul Haq also took three scalps in the innings. The Knight Riders would
01:09
eventually close on 175 for 7 from their 20 overs. When Barbados Royals
01:15
replied, left arm spinner Akhil Hossain and Jason Roy combined in removing both
01:20
Kadhimalian and de Kock cheaply. There was a 53 run partnership between Kevin
01:25
Wickham and the left-handed Alec Athanase. Wickham gave Hossain his third
01:31
wicket when he was caught and bowled for 23. Athanase was out for a top score of
01:38
44 with Roy taking his third catch of the match. David Miller chipped in with
01:43
Thatcher but it was not enough. Terence Hines bowled well and picked up two
01:50
scalps
01:54
and Chris Jordan grabbed three. Barbados Royals were restricted to 145 for 9
02:02
from their 20 overs giving TKR victory by Thatcher runs.
