The LNP leader is again in central Queensland, visiting the seat of Rockhampton as week two
00:08
of the Queensland election campaign continues.
00:11
David Cricifulli announced if elected, the LNP would provide $150,000 in funding for
00:17
12 months for a youth drop-in centre for young people.
00:21
One of the party's nine reset programs would also be based in Rockhampton, which would
00:26
provide a behavioural reset for young people demonstrating high-risk behaviour.
00:31
But again the focus of questions was on the LNP's position on changing abortion laws.
00:37
Abortion was decriminalised in Queensland in 2018.
00:41
Cater's Australian party has flagged it will introduce a private members bill next term
00:46
in parliament to reverse the laws.
00:48
The LNP's candidate for Rockhampton, Donna Kirkland, was asked about her personal position
00:53
on the issue of abortion and whether party MPs would be given a conscience vote on laws
00:58
if a bill came before the house.
01:01
Ms Kirkland dodged questions before Mr Cricifulli stepped in.
01:05
We have ruled it out.
01:07
We have ruled it out.
01:08
It's not a part of our plan.
01:10
We have ruled it out.
01:11
I have ruled it out.
01:12
We have ruled it out.
01:13
You can ask me those questions.
01:14
Yes, David has addressed them.
01:15
I think she's had a fair crack.
01:18
This is an issue the opposition leader has been unable to shake in his reluctance to
01:22
clearly rule out if his MPs will be given a conscience vote on the matter next term
01:27
in parliament means it's one that is unlikely to go away any time soon.
