00:00Well our next award is our Choice Award, which really is our People's Choice Award. So what is

00:05the Choice Award? The Choice Award is an award that is voted on by everyone in this room. So

00:13our Latin music executives, the readers of Billboard, the subscribers of Billboard,

00:18get to vote on the finalists for this award and on the ultimate winners. So think of it

00:24como el People's Choice Award, como el VMAs, the Latin Power Players. And this year our winner is

00:30a woman who has also been our Latin Executive of the Year and who now leads the careers of

00:40Anita and Danny Ocean, among others. Ladies and gentlemen, your Choice Award winner, Rebecca León.

00:58Thank you so much. Ah, you can't see anyone, it's true. Hello everyone, good evening. I just want to

01:05say thank you to Billboard, thank you to Leila. I wanted to recognize my parents who are here, who are

01:13my everything. Thank you for everything, I'm forever grateful to them.

01:17I also want to give a shout out to all the nominees who I love and admire so much.

01:22One of the things I was thinking about as I was getting ready to come over here was

01:26there's such a sense of family in this industry, in the Latin music industry. We've all known each

01:32other so long. I've known some of you like near 25 years or something like that, you know, it's

01:37been a long time. So I feel like there's just a lot of love and support always and there's something

01:43that happens in our industry where there's a lot of people crossing party lines to collaborate all

01:49the time. You know, like people coming together for a great song, for a great show, and it just

01:55feels like a general sense of camaraderie, which I think has been one of the reasons

02:00the Latin music business really exploded. It's like the collaboration idea that reggaeton gave

02:07us in a way, you know. So I just wanted to say thank you so much because this room feels like

02:13family, so this award feels like it comes from family, and that really is very special to me.
