With the next T20 World Cup taking place in less than a year-and-a-half on the sub-continent, all-rounder Roston Chase knows that the West Indies have to get their act together when playing spin bowling.

This comes in the wake of Tuesday's 73-run loss to hosts Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20 International in Dambulla.

Chase says the wicket for the match was quite tough, which saw the Windies being bundled out for 73.

00:00The second T20 International, which the West Indies lost to Sri Lanka and Dambulla, saw
00:06nine out of the ten wickets falling to spinners.
00:09The series is now 1-1, with Thursday's game being the decider.
00:13After the defeat, all-rounder Austin Chase said the conditions favoured the home side.
00:17Yeah, it's clear to see, obviously the first game the wicket was a true wicket, and obviously
00:22this game the wicket was spinning a lot more, so I guess the guys were scared to put us
00:28back on a good wicket after losing the first game, so I think they prepared the wicket
00:32in the favour, obviously playing hold of advantage, and obviously we didn't come out on top, so
00:38it's just for us to go back to the drawing board now and obviously think about playing
00:42the spinning ball a bit more.
00:45Does it mean that the West Indies do not feel comfortable playing spin at all?
00:48Mainly we're not accustomed to the wicket spinning like that.
00:52We are comfortable playing spin, but I guess when the wicket is spinning at that pace,
00:58it's a bit different from what we are accustomed to.
01:01When the West Indies bowled, they went in with two spinners in Chase and Gudakesh Moti.
01:06Both turned out to be wicketless, yet economical.
01:09I think if we had a next spinner, yeah, I think it would have been better for us, but
01:14we can't dwell on that after the team is selected.
01:19The next T20 World Cup takes place in early 2026, with India and Sri Lanka being joint
01:24hosts.
01:25It seems that the West Indies will want to get things right when facing spinners ahead
01:28of the prestigious event.
01:29Yeah, I guess obviously we have to probably bring up the sweep a bit more, probably reverse
01:35sweep and conventional sweep a bit more and try to, obviously, just try to work around
01:40the ball a bit more for longer and then try to power the ball in the back end.
01:45The final T20 also takes place in Dambulla from 9.30am TT time.
01:50The teams then play three one-day internationals starting Sunday, with all matches in Palakeli.
