Sweet Cheeks, a retro sweet shop in Hastings, East Sussex, has had stock stolen during a break-in

The break-in happened in the early hours of Monday, November 18 2024.

00:00Two men broke into our shop on the early hours of Monday morning and I think the

00:08first one was just kind of looking for money so he smashed the window and just

00:13went for all our belongings and then he left and then a couple of hours later

00:18another one came by and took a lot of our stock which is just so disheartening

00:24and a lot of the Christmas hampers that I've made up for obviously the next

00:29month Christmas time they've all just gone and just a lot of stock a lot of

00:34mess and a lot of inconvenience and we work really hard here and it's just such

00:39a shame that someone's come and done this. Well we're very lucky on Queen's

00:43Road because the community is lovely all the other shop owners really come

00:47together and we actually are like a little family so that's really nice but

00:51it has made us think which is a shame really that we do have to be a lot more

00:55vigilant and we've actually now had to put metal bars up at the windows we're

01:00thinking about other security that we can do we've got an alarm system now and

01:05it's a shame that we have to go to those lengths and just to stop people breaking

01:11in and stealing our stuff really and so yeah I just say to other business owners

01:15to just be vigilant and maybe do the same think about what security you've

01:20got. So the police responded really well they came very quickly and luckily got

01:24some fingerprints and we have got CCTV here as well so we have got quite good

01:29images and footage of the people that were in our shop and so hopefully

01:35something will come of that.
