Edinburgh Evening News reporter Kevin Quinn went along with his son to try out the city's newest eaterie, fish and chips restaurant Landy's, on the corner of The Royal Mile and North Bridge, to enjoy a delicious three-course meal.

00:00I went along with my son to try out Edinburgh's newest restaurant, situated on the corner of the Royal Mile and North Bridge.

00:07Landy's reimagines the coastal chippy in the midst of Scotland's capital.

00:11Edinburgh-based Vittoria Group opened the restaurant last weekend.

00:16That's your macaroni croquettes, to be honest, is one of my favourites.

00:19We're going to share them.

00:25We started our three-course meal by sharing haggis spring rolls and mac and cheese croquettes.

00:43Excuse me, sir.

00:44Lovely mac and cheese bites.

00:47It's fair to say that judging by our plates, we enjoyed our starters.

00:52Next up for our mains, I had a haggis supper while my son had his favourite, butter, sausages and chips.

01:13We tucked in our traditional Edinburgh chippy teas, and we loved it.

01:27For pudding, my son had deep-fried Mars Bar and ice cream, while I had cookie dough cheesecake and ice cream.

01:46It's worth pointing out that you don't have to sit in Landy's to enjoy its food, with a takeaway chippy also available.

02:15I checked in with the manager of Landy's to see how the first week has gone at Edinburgh's newest restaurant.

02:27We've just been kind of hidden just to try the market and see how it goes.

02:37It's been a good weekend.

02:39It's picking up slightly.

02:40The better, the merrier.

02:41Obviously we have the Bertie's.

02:43That's one of our sister sites.

02:45It's really, really busy.

02:46However, this time we obviously have the Christmas market.

02:48It's always taking a little bit of the football away from the royal mouth.

02:52But on a daily basis we can see our covers increasing and stuff.

02:55The feedback has been really, really good as we expected and stuff.

02:58People are really praising our food.

03:00The quality really feels like a proper fish and chips.

03:02The service is really restaurant, really good vibes, really casual.

03:05So people are loving it.

03:06So hopefully with this and moving forward we're going to pick up more often here.
