Food review: Kuzina Greek Street Food in Dalry, Edinburgh

Evening News reporter Kevin Quinn headed along with his family this week to try out Edinburgh's newest restaurant, Kuzina Greek Street Food, Kevin's first taste of Greek food.

00:00I headed along to Edinburgh's newest restaurant this week with my family

00:04Cazina Greek street food situated on Dalry Road. Given this was my first taste

00:12of Greek food I wasn't sure what to expect so the chef brought us out

00:17massive portions of food for our starters to try out various different Greek style

00:24foods. We were served shrimp, feta cheese, halloumi, pita breads to dip into some

00:31tasty dips including cheese and pepper and garlic and aubergine with feta

00:37cheese. Absolutely delicious. Head chef Greg Mounousis then took my son into the

00:43kitchen to show him cooking our mains.

00:46You want to remove the head? You can remove it later.

00:48They are easy to go because what they do the stuff here they just clean the shrimp

00:54you'll see they remove only this and the shell and the skin. And this is why they are more tasty.

01:01For our mains my wife and son shared a mixed platter of chicken skewers, pork

01:07skewers, chicken gyro, fries, pita bread and dips. Well I had this lovely chicken

01:12gyro wrap with chips which I thoroughly enjoyed. After getting through a mountain

01:18of gorgeous Greek street food I caught up with Cuisina's head chef to see how

01:22the first week has went since it opened.

01:25It's been nice. It's been really kind and people really supportive with everything.

01:30They felt like you know they needed this in the area so it was very busy.

01:36I'm very glad about that.

01:38And do you find that people know Greek food?

01:41Actually I was surprised that they know. They know many things.

01:46And the future for the restaurant? Just keep people coming back?

01:50Yes.

01:51Already most of them?

01:52They just came back this week. Some people I saw in the opening.

01:55Already?

01:56They came here on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. They booked tables for next week.

02:03It's fair to say after my first taste of Greek street food I will definitely be back with the family to try out Cuisina at Dalrai Road.
