Winter storm set to slam the mid-Atlantic states later this week

00:01toward tonight tomorrow morning.

00:02Not in Washington DC.

00:03If it snows in Washington DC,

00:05it won't be until tomorrow afternoon.

00:07Here comes the snow though.

00:08Tomorrow morning you're going to

00:10start seeing some dark blues here,

00:11central and southern parts of Virginia,

00:13Virginia Beach,

00:13some sleep that goes over to some snow.

00:16Raleigh, you may start as ice,

00:18but you're going to then go over

00:19the snow as we go through the

00:21afternoon and evening hours.

00:23May and there's a period of snow

00:25also in the Charlotte area,

00:26northwest side of the storm.

00:27That's the tricky call from

00:29Washington DC, Philadelphia,

00:30to a New York City future.

00:36and even in the southern parts of

00:38New England, Central and Eastern Long Island.

00:42Several inches of snow across

00:44Kentucky from Paducah toward Lexington,

00:45even Nashville toward Knoxville,

00:47picking up an inch or two tomorrow

00:49afternoon into tomorrow evening.

00:50And then we start talking about

00:52the mid Atlantic states here.

00:54I want to show you our wintercast for Richmond.

00:57This is where you not only get

00:59the Accuweather forecast,

01:00but what are the probability of

01:02getting a little more or less?

01:04Only 2% chance of getting more than 8,

01:06but a 32% chance of getting less than four.

01:09So you read this.

01:10It's at least two or three inches.

01:12We think in Richmond and it

01:13could be as high as seven and eight.

01:21This close call.

01:22You may not get anything more than flurries,

01:24but we think there's at least going

01:26to snow and some slippery travel.

01:28And there's Raleigh at two to four inches.

01:30Charlotte ice going over to a

01:32period of snow with a coding

01:34to an inch of accumulation.
