00:43your ear they have audio guides which are narrated by none other to John

00:47Lennon's sister Julia. Cementing their place on the map for those who want to

00:52get a feel of what it was like in their heyday as well as a major tourist

00:57attraction the Cavern is still a current live music venue with musicians

01:01making pilgrimages to the spot where the Beatles played over 200 times. This

01:06unfortunately is not the real deal this is a set that has been set up here in

01:12the exhibition but it does have a real authentic feel there's even I think bar

01:17with food and drink. Musicians do come and play here from time to time too. The

01:24Beatles have had a major impact on people across the world and the legacy

01:29of the band has become a valuable asset for their hometown. Beyond the fab four

01:35the musical heritage of Liverpool is rich and diverse. In fact this city has

01:40produced more number one hits than anywhere else in the world. Some credit

01:46the band's early success and others of the Mersey Beat era with Brian Epstein

01:50Often called the fifth Beatle as well as managing the band his family business

01:54NEMS provided Liverpool city centre with two extensive record shops. This

02:01exhibition isn't only interactive and lets you walk through the places the

02:05Beatles were it really gives you a sense of the time. Beatlemania was a real

02:10thing I'm sure we've all seen those images and videos of the screaming girls

02:14coming to greet the band. My mum was even one of those girls at Liverpool

02:20Airport to welcome them home. It was an absolute phenomenon. It's estimated that

02:27the legacy of the Beatles is worth approximately a hundred million pound to

02:32the Liverpool economy each year. Annually attracting more than 600,000 visitors and

02:37supporting almost two and a half thousand jobs. Liverpool owes a huge debt

02:43of thanks to the fab four. Attracting visitors to the city where they can

02:47discover for themselves where the inspiration for all of those hits can

02:53still be found.
