Bristol City claim big result in play-off hunt

00:00Bristol City head coach Liam Manning has said that the result was the thing that pleased him the most

00:06as the Robins went into the championship playoff places,

00:09defeating Watford by two goals to one at Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon.

00:14Before the encounter, Bristol City had sat level on points with those inside of the playoffs,

00:19but just outside them on goal difference.

00:21But, crucially, the three points at Ashton Gate on Saturday saw them move into the top six

00:27and give them the best chance of being promoted to the Premier League.

00:31I had a result. I think it was another tough game.

00:36I think the whole afternoon, I think, when you look at it, I thought first-half performance was excellent.

00:40I thought, you know, up against such a physical, powerful, quick side that caused you problems physically

00:45and with some really talented individuals, I think the bit you then have to do is take care of the ball

00:51and show a bit of bravery. I thought we did that first half, and then second-half,

00:54it becomes a slightly different game where, of course, you'd chase perfection in terms of how you manage it,

00:59but I thought the lads did an excellent job in terms of sticking together,

01:02showing real resilience, fight, desire to run, to compete,

01:06and restricted them, I thought, to very little, to be fair.

01:08So I think it's one of those I thought we showed a real togetherness today.

01:12And finally, Bristol Rovers head coach, Neagle Calderon, was once again looking for answers

01:17as Bristol Rovers lost to Bolton by one goal to nil.

01:22I think the first half was really good. I was really pleased with the team, especially defensively.

01:27I think we were solid, but I think we did really good at the game plan.

01:35The second half, I think we started to feel, I know I was tired, but we stopped doing the things that good.

01:41And, but still, still, I don't think we were struggling too much.

01:47LUB, obviously, you expect them to have the momentum, because then that's why they are in the top six,

01:52and we are not. But, overall, it was a good performance, but still not enough in terms of,

02:01it's like 60, 65 minutes, and after, it's true, after when we react, no, we react,

02:06we were a bit more positive, and we have a few chances, but, as always, we have to improve,

02:12improve, and that's why we are losing teams.
