The Prime Minister is tonight insisting that the government has not put all of its proverbial eggs in the Dragon gas basket.

He referred to gas to be explored from the Manatee field as well as recent announcements by companies such as BP.

He said it is the choice voters have to make in the General Election on April 28th.

00:00So don't buy any narrative of those who try to say all of the eggs are in the dragon basket.
00:05It's the complete opposite.
00:07So you've seen, and if you ask the people in the energy industry in Trinidad and Tobago,
00:11you've seen that rise in activity that has kept us stable at 2.6 BCF a day of production
00:18with the BP, with the Shell, with the EOG, with the Parenco,
00:22and even onshore with Touchstone for gas and the gas industry.
00:27And it absolutely must continue to pursue this.
00:29What you have to decide is who is capable of doing it,
00:35who has the credibility to be able to do it.
