00:02:38Dr. Narula breaks down the foods at the top of that list.
00:02:42We're gonna begin, though, with President Trump's trade war.
00:02:44A federal court has blocked his tariffs on China and other countries.
00:02:48Ruling that the president had overstepped his authority under the law.
00:02:51Chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce starts us off.
00:02:53Good morning, Mary.
00:02:54Good morning, George.
00:02:55And this is a massive blow to the president's trade war.
00:02:58For months, Trump has argued that the world is ripping America off,
00:03:01defiant in his executive authority to impose these staggering tariffs.
00:03:05But now a federal panel says the president is overstepping his authority
00:03:08and that his tariffs are illegal.
00:03:11Overnight, a staggering setback for President Trump's aggressive trade agenda.
00:03:16A panel of judges on the U.S. Court of International Trade
00:03:19blocking most of Trump's sweeping tariffs on China and other trading partners,
00:03:23determining that they are contrary to law.
00:03:26The move effectively bringing Trump's trade war to a screeching halt.
00:03:31In April, the president declared a national emergency
00:03:34to impose his so-called reciprocal tariffs
00:03:37on goods from every country that trades with the U.S.,
00:03:40without seeking approval from Congress.
00:03:42My fellow Americans, this is Liberation Day.
00:03:46As markets roiled, Trump defiant.
00:03:48I know what the hell I'm doing.
00:03:50But overnight, the federal panel ruling that the law does not authorize
00:03:53the president to use emergency powers to issue tariffs
00:03:56and that his executive orders exceed any authority granted to the president.
00:04:01The judges, appointed by Presidents Reagan, Obama and Trump,
00:04:05also blocking tariffs Trump imposed on China, Mexico and Canada
00:04:08to combat fentanyl trafficking because they do not deal with the threats
00:04:12described in the president's order.
00:04:14The Trump administration overnight quick to appeal.
00:04:17The White House rebuking the court,
00:04:19saying it is not for unelected judges to decide
00:04:22how to properly address a national emergency,
00:04:25adding the administration is committed to using every lever of executive power
00:04:29to address this crisis and restore American greatness.
00:04:33For weeks, the president's on-again, off-again tariffs
00:04:36have caused whiplash on Wall Street, sparking major sell-offs
00:04:39when he issues new threats and rallies when he pulls them back.
00:04:43In the Oval Office yesterday, Trump lashing out
00:04:45when a reporter asked about a new term for his turnarounds.
00:04:49Mr. President, Wall Street analysts have coined a new term
00:04:51called the taco trade.
00:04:52They're saying Trump always chickens out on your tariff threats
00:04:55and that's why markets are higher this week.
00:04:57What's your response to that?
00:04:58I kick out.
00:04:59Chicken out.
00:05:01Oh, isn't that nice, chicken out? I've never heard that.
00:05:04Six months ago, this country was stone-cold dead.
00:05:07We had a dead country.
00:05:09We had a country people didn't think it was going to survive
00:05:11and you ask a nasty question like that.
00:05:14It's called negotiation.
00:05:17The court has now given the administration
00:05:1810 days to halt these tariffs
00:05:21and the Justice Department is now appealing,
00:05:23setting up a legal fight that could soon reach the Supreme Court.
00:05:26George.
00:05:26And Mary, the Washington Post is reporting
00:05:28that this Qatari plane deal,
00:05:30which the Defense Department has said had been finalized,
00:05:32that the U.S. actually hasn't gone through.
00:05:34Yeah, despite those claims from the Defense Department,
00:05:36the Washington Post is now reporting
00:05:38that the U.S. and Qatar have not actually finalized a deal
00:05:41for the transfer of that $400 million luxury jet
00:05:44that Trump plans to use as the new Air Force One
00:05:46before being transferred to his presidential library.
00:05:49Now, according to the Post,
00:05:50Qatar still wants to clarify the terms of this deal,
00:05:53including making it clear
00:05:54that the transfer of this jet
00:05:56was initiated by the Trump administration.
00:05:58None of this, though, is expected to derail this deal.
00:06:01The plane's already in the U.S.,
00:06:02but it is sure to continue
00:06:04and to spark those legal concerns
00:06:05about this transfer, George.
00:06:07It's all about those legal challenges
00:06:08which have been brewing.
00:06:09Okay, Mary, thanks very much.
00:06:10Michael?
00:06:10All right, thank you, George.
00:06:11Now to President Trump's pardon.
00:06:13The reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley,
00:06:15they are both free this morning.
00:06:17Our chief Washington correspondent,
00:06:19John Carl, has the story.
00:06:20Good morning, John.
00:06:21Good morning, Michael.
00:06:22The Chrisleys are not alone.
00:06:24Donald Trump is using his pardon power early and often.
00:06:27And, Michael, there is a clear trend.
00:06:29Many of his pardons are going to his supporters
00:06:32and his political allies.
00:06:34This morning, reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley
00:06:38are back at home.
00:06:39Their federal convictions for tax evasion and bank fraud
00:06:42nullified by President Trump's pardon.
00:06:45Overnight, their daughter Savannah
00:06:46posted these videos to social media.
00:06:49Todd can be heard joking in the background.
00:06:51I didn't have to deal with this in prison.
00:06:53The couple served just over two years behind bars.
00:06:58Todd was sentenced to 12 years, Julie seven.
00:07:01Trump broke the news of the pardon
00:07:02to their daughter earlier this week.
00:07:04It's a great thing because your parents
00:07:07are going to be free and clean.
00:07:09For nearly a decade, the couple portrayed themselves
00:07:11as glamorous, self-made real estate tycoons
00:07:15on the hit show Chrisley Knows Best.
00:07:17I'm going to put my pajamas on
00:07:19because I have had a day from hell
00:07:20and it better not get any hotter in this house
00:07:22when I speak to y'all.
00:07:24But federal prosecutors said their life was built on a lie,
00:07:27calling them career swindlers
00:07:29who have made a living by jumping
00:07:31from one fraud scheme to another
00:07:33as they defrauded banks of more than $30 million,
00:07:37stiffing vendors and dodging taxes,
00:07:40using the money on luxury cars, homes, and designer clothes.
00:07:44Their daughter lobbied for their pardon,
00:07:47speaking at the Republican National Convention,
00:07:49saying her parents weren't targeted
00:07:51because of their political views.
00:07:53Due to our public profile and conservative beliefs,
00:07:58they accused my parents of fraud.
00:08:01It's the latest in a string of pardons
00:08:03to Trump's political supporters and allies.
00:08:06Wednesday, Trump pardoned Michael Harris,
00:08:08co-founder of Death Row Records,
00:08:10who served 33 years in prison on drug charges.
00:08:13Harris is a groundbreaking rap music executive
00:08:16who endorsed Trump's 2024 presidential campaign.
00:08:20In his first term, Trump had commuted his sentence.
00:08:23He also pardoned two former Republican lawmakers
00:08:26who had been convicted of tax fraud
00:08:28and other federal crimes.
00:08:30On Wednesday, Trump said he is considering pardons
00:08:33for a group of men convicted of plotting
00:08:35to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020
00:08:38and suggested they were not guilty.
00:08:41It looked to me like somewhat of a railroad job,
00:08:44I'll be honest with you.
00:08:46And of course, Trump's very first pardons,
00:08:48which came just hours after he took the oath of office,
00:08:51were for the nearly 1,600 Trump supporters
00:08:53convicted in connection with the January 6th
00:08:56attack on the U.S. Capitol.
00:08:58Since then, Trump has pardoned or commuted the sentences
00:09:00of more than 60 other people.
00:09:02At least a dozen of them have some sort of political
00:09:06or financial tie to the president.
00:09:08Robin?
00:09:08All right, John, our thanks to you.
00:09:10Now, Elon Musk leaving the Trump administration,
00:09:12ending his role as a special government employee.
00:09:15Our senior political correspondent, Rachel Scott,
00:09:18has more for us.
00:09:19Good morning, Rachel.
00:09:20Hey, Robin, good morning to you.
00:09:21And he was once considered one of the president's
00:09:23most powerful advisors,
00:09:24setting up offices on the White House campus,
00:09:26attending cabinet meetings.
00:09:28But Elon Musk is now leaving the administration
00:09:29and taking a swipe at the president's agenda
00:09:32on the way out.
00:09:32This morning, Elon Musk is out,
00:09:36stepping away from his role
00:09:37at the Department of Government Efficiency.
00:09:39Overnight, posting online,
00:09:41I would like to thank President Trump
00:09:42for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.
00:09:45For months, Musk has been working to slash agencies
00:09:48as a special government employee.
00:09:53Attempting to cut trillions in federal spending,
00:09:55but facing resistance from the public, lawmakers,
00:09:58and members of Trump's cabinet.
00:09:59And in the last hours of working for the administration,
00:10:02Musk publicly breaking with the president
00:10:04on his massive spending bill,
00:10:06arguing it would undo their own efforts
00:10:08to shrink the federal government.
00:10:10I was, like, disappointed to see
00:10:11the massive spending bill, frankly,
00:10:14which increases the budget deficit,
00:10:16not just decrease it,
00:10:18and unreminds the work that the Doge team is doing.
00:10:20The president not publicly going after Musk,
00:10:22but arguing the bill couldn't cut too many programs
00:10:24in order to get it through the House.
00:10:26My reaction's a lot of things.
00:10:28Number one, we have to get a lot of votes.
00:10:30We can't be cutting...
00:10:32You know, we need to get a lot of support,
00:10:35and we have a lot of support.
00:10:37We had to get it through the House.
00:10:39The bill Republicans just pushed through the House,
00:10:41officially called the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,
00:10:43does promise to slash federal spending
00:10:45by $1.5 trillion,
00:10:47with major cuts to Medicaid
00:10:49and food assistance programs.
00:10:51But the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office
00:10:53now estimates it will add $3.8 trillion
00:10:56to the national deficit over the next 10 years.
00:10:59The bill has divided Republican lawmakers,
00:11:01and even the president says it's not perfect.
00:11:03I'm not happy about certain aspects of it,
00:11:06but I'm thrilled by other aspects of it.
00:11:08But Republicans, back in their own home districts,
00:11:10are now forced to defend the bill
00:11:12and other actions taken by the administration.
00:11:14I'm going to do the very best job I can on your behalf.
00:11:21At a town hall in Nebraska,
00:11:23Republican Congressman Mike Flood
00:11:24admitting he wasn't aware of everything
00:11:26that was in the bill when he voted for it.
00:11:28This provision was unknown to me
00:11:31when I voted for the bill.
00:11:33And in Iowa, Republican Congresswoman Ashley Henson
00:11:36booed out of town hall as she touted the bill.
00:11:39I was also proud to vote for President Trump's
00:11:41one big beautiful bill last week.
00:11:43This is a generational investment.
00:11:46So as for Elon Musk,
00:11:48his role in the government was intended to be limited,
00:11:50but in recent days he has said
00:11:52he spent too much time focused on politics
00:11:54as his businesses took a hit, George.
00:11:56Okay, Rachel, thanks very much.
00:11:57We're getting at the latest now
00:11:58on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
00:12:00More chaos and concerns about widespread hunger
00:12:03as hundreds of people stormed a food aid warehouse.
00:12:06Chief Foreign Correspondent Ian Pennell has the story.
00:12:09This morning, desperation and death in Gaza.
00:12:13Thousands of people storming a UN food warehouse on Wednesday.
00:12:18Surging inside, seen in this video circulating online.
00:12:21At least two killed and several injured
00:12:23in the crush, according to the UN.
00:12:26Israel imposed an almost three-month blockade
00:12:28of food and medicine.
00:12:30Although limited supplies are now getting in,
00:12:33aid groups say it's way short of what's needed.
00:12:35Nearly half a million people in Gaza
00:12:37are now facing catastrophic hunger,
00:12:40according to 17 UN agencies and NGOs.
00:12:43The Palestinian ambassador to the UN
00:12:45speaking at a Security Council meeting
00:12:47overcome with emotion.
00:12:54American doctor Feroz Sidwar,
00:12:56who's volunteered twice in Gaza,
00:12:57telling ABC News the situation is disastrous.
00:13:01People stormed a world food program warehouse.
00:13:04Well, they did that to feed their children.
00:13:06They're not thieves.
00:13:07They can't bear to watch their kids suffer like this.
00:13:09Well, Israel denies the situation is as bad
00:13:12as aid groups claim.
00:13:13But President Trump and others calling
00:13:15for an end to the war,
00:13:16and now the U.S. proposing a new ceasefire
00:13:19and hostage release plan.
00:13:21Michael.
00:13:21All right, Ian, thank you so much.
00:13:23We're going to turn now to new questions
00:13:24after an airport security incident.
00:13:26Newly released surveillance video
00:13:27showed the man attacking TSA officers.
00:13:30It happened just one day after officials say
00:13:32he assaulted a passenger mid-flight.
00:13:34Victor Okendo has the story.
00:13:35The surveillance video is shocking.
00:13:39Watch the man wearing a light blue T-shirt
00:13:41start swinging at TSA officers
00:13:44at Miami International Airport.
00:13:46It happened in late December of last year.
00:13:49First, he tries punching one officer,
00:13:51but can't connect.
00:13:53Another officer then jumps in,
00:13:55bringing the attacker to the floor.
00:13:57The man keeps punching,
00:13:58despite being pinned,
00:14:00hitting that officer at least three times.
00:14:02He's held down until a Miami-Dade police officer
00:14:05can arrest him.
00:14:06Authorities saying that was 28-year-old
00:14:08Cameron Dillon McDougal of Toronto,
00:14:11and that was not his only altercation.
00:14:14According to prosecutors,
00:14:15after passing through security,
00:14:17McDougal randomly attacked another passenger
00:14:20without warning
00:14:21and allegedly struck an airport security guard
00:14:24who tried to step in.
00:14:25That's when he doubled back to security
00:14:27and went after the other officers.
00:14:30McDougal was only in Florida in the first place
00:14:33because of another fight.
00:14:35One day earlier,
00:14:36while on a Copa Airlines flight
00:14:37from Panama City to Toronto,
00:14:40authorities say he physically struck
00:14:41another passenger on board
00:14:43and the pilot diverted to Miami.
00:14:45There's no right to fly.
00:14:47And if you're violent in an airplane,
00:14:49then the airline has a right and responsibility
00:14:52to make sure that you don't fly on their airplanes.
00:14:55McDougal pled guilty in federal court
00:14:57to multiple charges.
00:14:58He faces up to two years in prison
00:15:00and will be sentenced on Friday.
00:15:02Robin.
00:15:03All right, Victor.
00:15:04Going to turn now to breaking news
00:15:05about two of the biggest airlines joining forces.
00:15:08Chief Business Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis
00:15:10is here with those details for us.
00:15:12Good morning, Rebecca.
00:15:13Good morning, Robin.
00:15:14This is big news.
00:15:14United Airlines and JetBlue
00:15:16have just announced
00:15:17an unusually close partnership.
00:15:19It's not technically a merger,
00:15:21but they're going to start selling
00:15:22each other's seats on each other's flights.
00:15:25The partnership means
00:15:26that you can go to United or JetBlue's website or app
00:15:30and see flights listed for both airlines,
00:15:32then book them right there.
00:15:34The airlines say it won't impact pricing.
00:15:36They will still do that independently.
00:15:39But if you're a member of United
00:15:40and JetBlue's loyalty programs,
00:15:42your benefits will now stretch even further.
00:15:45Passengers, no matter which carrier they're flying,
00:15:47can apply the miles and benefits.
00:15:49That means priority boarding,
00:15:51complimentary access to preferred
00:15:52and extra legroom seats,
00:15:54and same-day standby and switching.
00:15:55Plus, earning and using miles on both airlines.
00:16:00JetBlue will give United access
00:16:02to seven slots at JFK Airport
00:16:04beginning as early as 2027.
00:16:06They'll also exchange some flight timings
00:16:08at Newark Airport.
00:16:09And we've seen a lot of consolidation
00:16:11among airlines over the years.
00:16:13While United and JetBlue
00:16:14will technically remain independent,
00:16:17this partnership really deepens
00:16:18the relationship they have with each other
00:16:20and the clout they have in the industry, guys.
00:16:23Wow.
00:16:23Great deal there for a lot of passengers.
00:16:25We got one over here who's giving...
00:16:27I'm going to introduce it in a second.
00:16:28Will was very happy.
00:16:29Yeah.
00:16:30I thought you were excited
00:16:31about the NBA playoffs.
00:16:32Oklahoma City Thunder
00:16:33punching their ticket to the finals,
00:16:34but that was not it.
00:16:35That got you more excited.
00:16:36I'm going to use my United miles
00:16:37to then maybe fly JetBlue
00:16:38to Oklahoma City
00:16:39because the Thunder
00:16:40are in the finals.
00:16:41So, Minnesota had the lead
00:16:43three-zip early in the first quarter.
00:16:45That was it.
00:16:46It was a dismantling
00:16:46by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
00:16:48Final score,
00:16:48124-94.
00:16:50Their fourth win
00:16:51by 30 or more points
00:16:52in these playoffs.
00:16:53That's the most
00:16:54in a single postseason
00:16:55in NBA history.
00:16:57SGA, the MVP,
00:16:58had 34 points,
00:16:59eight assists,
00:17:00seven rebounds.
00:17:01He was regular season MVP.
00:17:02Now he adds
00:17:03Western Conference Finals MVP
00:17:04to his trophy case,
00:17:06becoming the first MVP
00:17:07to make the NBA Finals
00:17:08in the same season
00:17:10as winning that award
00:17:11since Steph Curry in 2016.
00:17:14The Thunder are into
00:17:15their first NBA Finals
00:17:16since 2012,
00:17:17but if we're counting
00:17:17their 1979 win
00:17:19as the Seattle Supersonics,
00:17:21then the franchise
00:17:22has one title,
00:17:23but otherwise,
00:17:23this would be
00:17:23the first championship
00:17:24as the Thunder.
00:17:25Now, who will be
00:17:26their opponent?
00:17:27We may get some clarity
00:17:28tonight.
00:17:28Knicks-Pacers,
00:17:29Game 5 at MSG.
00:17:31Can the Knicks
00:17:32extend the series
00:17:33or will the Pacers
00:17:34close it out in 5?
00:17:35We have a chance,
00:17:36Will.
00:17:36That's all I'm saying.
00:17:37You've got to be
00:17:37in the building
00:17:38rooting as hard as you can.
00:17:39Oh, I'll be there.
00:17:40Okay, good.
00:17:41You can dance,
00:17:43you can jive,
00:17:45having the time
00:17:47of your life.
00:17:50Back here on GMA,
00:17:51and here we go again.
00:17:52Big news this morning
00:17:54for Mamma Mia fans
00:17:55and the pop superstar
00:17:57that we could see singing.
00:18:01I just wanted to hear
00:18:02them do that.
00:18:02Mamma Mia 3,
00:18:03that's coming up
00:18:04in pop news.
00:18:05First, new at 7.30,
00:18:07the manhunt
00:18:07expending by air
00:18:08and on land
00:18:09for the former
00:18:09Arkansas police chief
00:18:10who escaped from prison.
00:18:11There was a possible sighting
00:18:12as the search
00:18:13for the convicted killer
00:18:14enters its fifth day
00:18:15after he impersonated
00:18:16a corrections officer
00:18:17to walk out of prison.
00:18:19Also, a piece of a glacier
00:18:20broke off in the Swiss Alps
00:18:21releasing rock, ice,
00:18:22and mud
00:18:23that buried most
00:18:24of the mountain village.
00:18:25Authorities had evacuated
00:18:26the village earlier
00:18:27this month
00:18:27over fears of a rock slide
00:18:28one person is missing.
00:18:30An Arizona police officer
00:18:32pulled a woman from a car
00:18:33as it explodes in flames
00:18:35after a multi-vehicle crash.
00:18:36He broke the window
00:18:37and managed to pull out
00:18:38the driver
00:18:39whose hair was on fire.
00:18:41She was taken to the hospital
00:18:42in critical condition,
00:18:44but she is expected to survive.
00:18:46Thank goodness he was there.
00:18:47And it's time to put another trophy
00:18:49on the Woods mantelpiece.
00:18:50This time, though,
00:18:51it's Tiger's son,
00:18:5316-year-old Charlie Woods,
00:18:55winning his first ever
00:18:56American Junior Golf Association
00:18:57tournament,
00:18:58winning the team
00:18:59tailor-made invitational
00:19:00at the Screamsong Resort
00:19:02Black Course in Florida.
00:19:04The high school junior
00:19:05beat 70 other competitors
00:19:06in only his fifth
00:19:07junior golf tournament.
00:19:09Charlie, he didn't look
00:19:10at the leaderboard all day.
00:19:11So he was just focused
00:19:13on his own game.
00:19:14Congratulations to him.
00:19:16He beat four out of five
00:19:17top-ranked players
00:19:18in the AJGA.
00:19:19Yeah, so very impressive
00:19:20win for Charlie Woods.
00:19:21Congratulations to him.
00:19:22Now to the Sean Diddy Combs trial.
00:19:24A new testimony
00:19:24from a celebrity stylist
00:19:26who says he witnessed
00:19:26Combs assault his ex-girlfriend.
00:19:29Chief Investigative
00:19:30Correspondent Aaron Katursky
00:19:31is at the courthouse.
00:19:31Good morning, Aaron.
00:19:33Good morning to you, George.
00:19:35The jury here has been
00:19:36digesting testimony
00:19:37about beatings, threats,
00:19:39and an arson
00:19:40started by a bottle
00:19:41of Old English
00:19:42and a designer handkerchief.
00:19:45This morning,
00:19:46newly released images
00:19:47of an arson.
00:19:48The jury seeing components
00:19:49of a Molotov cocktail
00:19:51and the damage it caused
00:19:52to Kid Cudi's Porsche.
00:19:54Think about all my old friends.
00:19:55Who are my friends all along?
00:19:57The rapper testified
00:19:58he suspected Sean Combs
00:20:00was behind it
00:20:01after finding out
00:20:01he and Cassie Ventura
00:20:03were dating,
00:20:03something Combs denies.
00:20:05The arson investigator
00:20:06showed the jury photos
00:20:07of the bottle
00:20:08of Old English malt liquor
00:20:09containing gasoline,
00:20:10the designer-type handkerchief
00:20:12he said was used
00:20:13as a wick,
00:20:13and a red disposable lighter.
00:20:15He also told the jury
00:20:16fingerprints taken
00:20:17from Kid Cudi's home
00:20:18had been destroyed.
00:20:20When prosecutors
00:20:20pressed the point,
00:20:21defense attorneys
00:20:22sought a mistrial.
00:20:23They're clearly suggesting
00:20:24that Mr. Combs
00:20:25did something
00:20:26to cause the destruction
00:20:27of these print cards.
00:20:29The judge denied
00:20:30the mistrial.
00:20:31To this day,
00:20:31the arson remains
00:20:32an open case.
00:20:34The arson of Kid Cudi's car
00:20:35is connected
00:20:36to these charges
00:20:37because we know
00:20:38that RICO relies
00:20:39on the fact
00:20:40that it is an enterprise
00:20:40and that they're taking part
00:20:42in racketeering activities.
00:20:43To show racketeering activities,
00:20:45the prosecution
00:20:46has to prove
00:20:47two underlying
00:20:48predicate crimes
00:20:49that were loosely related
00:20:51in some sort.
00:20:52So if they get
00:20:53a new lead
00:20:53or an additional information,
00:20:55they can actually
00:20:56seek charges
00:20:56in that particular arson.
00:20:59Cassie Ventura's
00:21:00stylist and friend
00:21:01Deontay Nash
00:21:02testified he witnessed
00:21:03Combs beating Ventura
00:21:04until her head
00:21:05hit the edge
00:21:06of the bed frame,
00:21:07drawing blood.
00:21:08He also testified
00:21:09Ventura confided
00:21:10Combs pressured her
00:21:11into unwanted sex
00:21:13with male prostitutes,
00:21:14telling him,
00:21:15I don't want to go
00:21:15to the hotel
00:21:16and freak off with him.
00:21:18Another time,
00:21:18Nash testified
00:21:19he watched Combs
00:21:20threaten to release
00:21:21sex tapes of her.
00:21:22He was going
00:21:22to first start
00:21:23by sending them
00:21:24to her parents' jobs.
00:21:26Why is this important
00:21:26to the prosecution's case?
00:21:28It's important
00:21:28because it speaks
00:21:29to the human trafficking
00:21:30due to force and coercion.
00:21:37On cross-examination,
00:21:38Nash revealed Ventura,
00:21:40who testified
00:21:40while pregnant,
00:21:41had given birth
00:21:42to her third child
00:21:43with husband Alex Fine.
00:21:45What is the last time
00:21:46you spoke to her?
00:21:47A defense attorney asked.
00:21:48After she had
00:21:49the baby yesterday,
00:21:50Nash answered.
00:21:50Tell her congratulations.
00:21:53Combs has really
00:21:53been eyeing jurors,
00:21:55looking for their reaction
00:21:56to all of the testimony
00:21:57of late.
00:21:58Nash, the stylist,
00:22:00is going to finish
00:22:00his cross-examination
00:22:02this morning.
00:22:03And guys,
00:22:03the next witness
00:22:04is a former employee,
00:22:06identified only
00:22:07under the pseudonym Mia,
00:22:09who has accused
00:22:09Sean Combs of abuse.
00:22:11Guys?
00:22:12All right, Aaron.
00:22:12Thank you so much.
00:22:13Everything,
00:22:14every day is something new.
00:22:15All right,
00:22:15thank you for that.
00:22:16We're going to turn now
00:22:16to the latest
00:22:17close encounter
00:22:18with sharks.
00:22:19Summer hasn't even
00:22:20officially started,
00:22:21and already there have
00:22:22been several incidents.
00:22:23Eva Pilgrim is here
00:22:24with the story.
00:22:25Good morning, Eva.
00:22:25Good morning, Michael.
00:22:26Shark sightings
00:22:27all up and down
00:22:27the East Coast.
00:22:28This is where we're
00:22:29heading into peak
00:22:30beach season,
00:22:31and some are finding
00:22:32it's not just more
00:22:33people in the water.
00:22:36Shark!
00:22:37Shark in the pod!
00:22:38This morning,
00:22:39a series of shark
00:22:40encounters up and down
00:22:41the East Coast,
00:22:43putting beachgoers
00:22:45on edge.
00:22:46The patient is out
00:22:47of the water,
00:22:47conscious breathing.
00:22:48In North Carolina
00:22:49Wednesday, authorities
00:22:50saying a shark
00:22:51appeared to bite
00:22:52Sean Barton's leg.
00:22:54I had just got done
00:22:55riding a wave,
00:22:57standing up.
00:22:58I felt something
00:22:59bite down on calf,
00:23:02shin region,
00:23:03just bite down
00:23:04on my leg,
00:23:05and then let go
00:23:05pretty quickly thereafter.
00:23:07And immediately,
00:23:08I thought,
00:23:09I think I just got
00:23:10bit by a shark.
00:23:11Barton telling his nieces
00:23:12who were swimming nearby
00:23:13to get out of the water
00:23:14as he ran to shore,
00:23:16his brother-in-law
00:23:17treating him at the scene
00:23:18while his sister
00:23:19called 911.
00:23:21I'm glad that maybe
00:23:22it was me and not
00:23:23any of my nieces
00:23:24or any of the kids
00:23:24playing in the water,
00:23:26and definitely lucky
00:23:27that it wasn't a lot
00:23:28worse than it could have been.
00:23:30Meanwhile,
00:23:30in Rhode Island,
00:23:31tourists spotting
00:23:32this massive 20-foot shark
00:23:34thought to be
00:23:34a basking shark
00:23:35swimming in Block Island's
00:23:37Great Salt Pond
00:23:38over the holiday weekend.
00:23:40Millions viewing the video,
00:23:42comparing it
00:23:42to a real-life Jaws.
00:23:44That's a 20-footer.
00:23:4625.
00:23:48Experts say
00:23:49while these types of sharks
00:23:50can get up to 40 feet long,
00:23:52they're not dangerous.
00:23:54This is a big shark.
00:23:55It's the second largest
00:23:56shark in the world.
00:23:57And it is, in fact,
00:23:58a relative
00:23:59of the white shark.
00:24:00But it's feeding
00:24:01a microscopic little plankton.
00:24:03And so,
00:24:03from a distance,
00:24:04you might see this huge fin
00:24:05and be terrified,
00:24:07a la Jaws.
00:24:09But in reality,
00:24:10you've got nothing to fear
00:24:11from a big,
00:24:12basking shark like that.
00:24:13But close encounters
00:24:14still causing concern.
00:24:16You're fine.
00:24:16It's right here.
00:24:17It's right here.
00:24:18The shark swimming
00:24:19just feet from a woman
00:24:20during a guided tour
00:24:21near Panama City Beach, Florida.
00:24:24I think she was initially shocked
00:24:25and, you know,
00:24:26you think you're just going
00:24:27to the beach
00:24:27waist deep of water,
00:24:29but they could be anywhere.
00:24:30The shark appeared
00:24:31to be a black-tip shark,
00:24:33common in this area.
00:24:35Known to swim along the coast
00:24:36in shallow water,
00:24:38reef fish,
00:24:39its main source of food.
00:24:40When you see a shark like that,
00:24:42you really want to stay calm
00:24:43and kind of make sure
00:24:45and gauge what the shark is doing.
00:24:47The shark was just swimming,
00:24:49not erratically,
00:24:50just very slowly
00:24:51and just cruised on by.
00:24:53So we asked our expert,
00:24:55why are we having
00:24:55more shark sightings?
00:24:56He said it's twofold.
00:24:57One, these things,
00:24:59the phones.
00:24:59We're able to document
00:25:00and share the sharks
00:25:01that we are seeing,
00:25:02but also, too,
00:25:04some populations of sharks
00:25:06have increased, Robin.
00:25:08I know,
00:25:08but we're just supposed
00:25:09to stay calm.
00:25:10Yes, stay calm.
00:25:10All right, got it.
00:25:11Most of them aren't
00:25:11trying to eat us.
00:25:12That's true.
00:25:13Thank you, as always, Eva.
00:25:14Coming up, breaking at 8,
00:25:15the new warning
00:25:16about so-called salt bombs
00:25:18in your diet,
00:25:19the foods that could be
00:25:20putting you in a danger zone.
00:25:21And Rebecca is back
00:25:22with a alert about,
00:25:23what, an unexpected
00:25:24price hike here?
00:25:26Yeah, any of you get
00:25:27a message in the mail
00:25:28from your insurance company
00:25:29saying your rates
00:25:30are about to go up?
00:25:31Well, we know people who have,
00:25:33and you might soon
00:25:34be getting one as well.
00:25:36I'll tell you why it's happening
00:25:37and what you can do
00:25:39about it next.
00:25:40Stay with us.
00:25:46We're back now
00:25:47with an alert
00:25:48about another bill
00:25:49that's about to get higher.
00:25:51Insurance premiums
00:25:52and home and auto coverage
00:25:54are set to go up.
00:25:55Rebecca is back,
00:25:57and you're going to tell us
00:25:57what's going on here
00:25:58and what we can do, perhaps?
00:25:59Yes, yes, indeed, Robin.
00:26:01I'm the bearer
00:26:01of the good news today.
00:26:02Okay.
00:26:02People have been feeling
00:26:04these costs rising
00:26:04for some time.
00:26:05Car insurance last year
00:26:06up 20%,
00:26:07home insurance
00:26:08up double digits
00:26:09with the effects
00:26:10of weather, storm damage,
00:26:12and inflation.
00:26:12But now tariffs
00:26:13could drive additional
00:26:15price increases.
00:26:16Take a look at this.
00:26:17One of our staffers
00:26:18received this notice
00:26:19from his insurance company
00:26:21that stated
00:26:22new auto tariffs
00:26:23could directly impact
00:26:25auto insurance premiums
00:26:26caused by rising parts costs
00:26:28and higher car prices.
00:26:30New York State residents,
00:26:31for example,
00:26:32could face an increase
00:26:33of $489 by the end of the year
00:26:36with $110 of that
00:26:38expected to be tied
00:26:39directly to those tariffs.
00:26:42So the tariffs are one reason.
00:26:43What else is causing
00:26:44the rates to go up?
00:26:45You've seen it
00:26:45because of climate change,
00:26:48because of weather,
00:26:49because these companies,
00:26:51insurance companies,
00:26:52are deciding to move
00:26:53out of areas.
00:26:54You've also seen it
00:26:55in areas beyond
00:26:56California and Florida.
00:26:58You know,
00:26:58we had the wildfires.
00:26:59We've had a lot of issues there.
00:27:00But if you look specifically
00:27:02at the breakdown
00:27:02of those tariffs,
00:27:04that 25% tariff
00:27:05took effect earlier this month.
00:27:07About 6 out of 10
00:27:08auto replacement parts
00:27:09are imported now
00:27:10from Mexico,
00:27:11Canada, and China.
00:27:12So there's a good chance
00:27:13if you need your car repaired,
00:27:15it's going to cost more.
00:27:16The American Property
00:27:16Casualty Insurance Association
00:27:18estimates that
00:27:19annual personal auto insurance
00:27:21claims costs
00:27:21could rise by anywhere
00:27:23between $23 billion
00:27:25and $45 billion
00:27:26over a 12-month period.
00:27:28And if you're a homeowner,
00:27:30we've already been seeing
00:27:31estimates that tariffs
00:27:32could increase the price
00:27:34of the building of a home
00:27:36by $11,000.
00:27:38So again,
00:27:38that plays out
00:27:39through the whole system
00:27:40when it comes to insurance.
00:27:41Yeah.
00:27:42It's the little things
00:27:42that all the tariffs
00:27:43bring all adds up.
00:27:45Okay.
00:27:45What can you do?
00:27:46How can we save home
00:27:48and auto insurance?
00:27:49How can we save?
00:27:50Any tips?
00:27:50The number one thing
00:27:51you can do is shop around.
00:27:52So it's important
00:27:54to shop around regularly,
00:27:56even every year,
00:27:57even every couple of months.
00:27:59More people are doing this,
00:28:00which is good news.
00:28:01So you don't have to wait
00:28:03until the end of the year.
00:28:04Ask other insurance companies.
00:28:06Look for discounts.
00:28:07The bundling sometimes.
00:28:08They give you a promotion
00:28:09if you do more than one.
00:28:11And then look at events.
00:28:14You know,
00:28:14if there's a big event,
00:28:15if there's a big insurance claim,
00:28:17you have to think through,
00:28:18how much of that
00:28:20do I want to claim
00:28:21versus not?
00:28:23You have to do that math
00:28:24because insurance companies
00:28:26will drive your rates up,
00:28:27generally speaking,
00:28:28when you make a claim.
00:28:30And especially if you make
00:28:31too many of them.
00:28:33So just think about what...
00:28:34You have to play that out
00:28:35and look at the actual
00:28:36cost-benefit analysis of,
00:28:38okay, if this is a $200 claim,
00:28:40but my rate could go up $300,
00:28:43is it worth it to make this claim?
00:28:45But of course,
00:28:45you want to be insured.
00:28:46That's the whole point
00:28:47of why you get insurance.
00:28:48in the first place.
00:28:49And I'm really intrigued
00:28:50by it.
00:28:51You have to ask a lot
00:28:52with the insurance company.
00:28:53If you ask,
00:28:54you can find...
00:28:54And you might receive.
00:28:55Right.
00:28:56It really does pay.
00:28:57You call in so many cases,
00:28:59calling your credit card company,
00:29:00your insurer,
00:29:01even asking when you're
00:29:03about to buy something
00:29:04at the register,
00:29:05can I get a discount?
00:29:06Oh, I haven't thought
00:29:07about that.
00:29:08You know what?
00:29:08I'm just going to call you.
00:29:10One time I did get
00:29:11a 99% discount.
00:29:13I was with my grandparents
00:29:14in Florida.
00:29:14It was pretty awesome.
00:29:15They thought I had
00:29:16a magic touch.
00:29:17We got it at the counter.
00:29:18On a night down
00:29:19for my grandma.
00:29:2099%?
00:29:20Yeah.
00:29:21And then they wanted me
00:29:21to do all of their,
00:29:23every purchase going forward.
00:29:24I bet.
00:29:25I'm joining your grandparents.
00:29:26You can handle
00:29:27all my purchases
00:29:27going forward, too.
00:29:28Good morning, America.
00:29:33It's 8 a.m.
00:29:34blocked.
00:29:35A panel of judges rules
00:29:36that most of President
00:29:37Trump's tariffs are illegal,
00:29:39saying he overstepped
00:29:39his authority
00:29:40by imposing them
00:29:41on China,
00:29:42Mexico,
00:29:42Canada,
00:29:43and other trading partners.
00:29:45The reaction from
00:29:45the White House
00:29:46and financial markets,
00:29:47what comes next?
00:29:49Hugh Jackman's ex
00:29:50breaks her silence
00:29:51on their split
00:29:52as the couple
00:29:53ends their nearly
00:29:5330-year marriage.
00:29:54Why she calls it
00:29:56a journey of betrayal
00:29:57and what she's learned
00:29:58from their divorce.
00:30:01Billionaire Bieber.

00:30:13And we're kicking it

00:30:33it's Thursday.
00:30:35Good morning, America.
00:30:36Okay, we got a bus on it.
00:30:37Dr. Narula was over there.
00:30:38She was dead
00:30:39since she was hearing the music.
00:30:40We just peeling
00:30:41those layers of that.
00:30:42She's a little cool
00:30:42in the game.
00:30:43Yeah, this celebration.
00:30:44Well, it's a big celebration.
00:30:46Yeah, be careful
00:30:47that I'll put that camera

00:31:04She has clever solutions
00:31:05to make your life easier
00:31:06and everything
00:31:07is at least half off.
00:31:09And we have a GMA health alert
00:31:11about some of your favorite foods
00:31:12that could be called salt bombs
00:31:15that are pushing you
00:31:16way over your daily
00:31:17recommendation of sodium.
00:31:19That is why Dr. Narula is here.
00:31:21She is our chief medical correspondent
00:31:23and a cardiologist.
00:31:24And she's going to break down
00:31:25the study,
00:31:26tell us about the damage
00:31:27too much salt can do.
00:31:28And audition for Dancing with the Stars.
00:31:30Yes, she will.
00:31:32First, look at the top stories
00:31:33breaking at eight.
00:31:33We start with President Trump's trade war.
00:31:35Federal court has blocked
00:31:36his tariffs on China
00:31:37and other countries,
00:31:38ruling that the president
00:31:39had overstepped his authority
00:31:40under the law.
00:31:41I want to go back
00:31:42to our chief White House
00:31:43correspondent, Mary Bruce.
00:31:44Good morning, Mary.
00:31:45Good morning again, George.
00:31:46And this is a huge blow
00:31:47to the president's economic agenda.
00:31:49That federal panel ruling
00:31:51that the president
00:31:51overstepped his authority
00:31:52and that most of his tariffs
00:31:54against China
00:31:54and other U.S. trading partners
00:31:56are illegal.
00:31:57The move effectively brings
00:31:58the president's trade war
00:31:59to a screeching halt.
00:32:01Back in April,
00:32:02you'll recall the president
00:32:03declared a national emergency
00:32:04to impose his so-called
00:32:05reciprocal tariffs on goods
00:32:07from every country
00:32:08that trades with the U.S.
00:32:09without seeking approval
00:32:10from Congress.
00:32:11But overnight,
00:32:12the federal panel ruled
00:32:13that the law, quote,
00:32:14does not authorize the president
00:32:16to use emergency powers
00:32:17to issue tariffs.
00:32:18The judges,
00:32:19appointed by presidents
00:32:20Reagan, Obama, and Trump,
00:32:22is also blocking tariffs
00:32:23Trump imposed on China,
00:32:24Mexico, and Canada
00:32:25to combat fentanyl trafficking
00:32:27because they, quote,
00:32:28do not deal with the threats
00:32:29described in the president's order.
00:32:31The Trump administration
00:32:31is now appealing.
00:32:33The White House rebuking
00:32:34the court,
00:32:34saying in a statement
00:32:35it is not for unelected judges
00:32:37to decide how to properly
00:32:38address a national emergency,
00:32:40adding the administration
00:32:41is committed to using
00:32:42every lever of executive power
00:32:44to address this crisis
00:32:45and restore American greatness.
00:32:47The court has now given
00:32:48the administration 10 days
00:32:49to halt these tariffs,
00:32:51and the Justice Department
00:32:52is now appealing.
00:32:53It sets up a legal fight
00:32:54that could soon reach
00:32:55the Supreme Court.
00:32:56Michael.
00:32:57All right.
00:32:58Thank you for that, Mary.
00:32:59We're going to turn now
00:32:59to the new report
00:33:00about the salt bombs
00:33:01in your diet.
00:33:03Our chief medical correspondent
00:33:04and dancing machine,
00:33:05Dr. Tara Narula,
00:33:06is here with the details
00:33:07and, Doc,
00:33:08this study,
00:33:09I had to get you with that.
00:33:10This study,
00:33:11it makes a point
00:33:12that all the communities
00:33:13are taking in too much salt.
00:33:15The biggest,
00:33:16you know,
00:33:17tell us about
00:33:17the biggest culprits
00:33:18for this.
00:33:19So this was a study
00:33:20that looked at different races
00:33:21and ethnicities in this country
00:33:22to see where are we getting
00:33:23the most sodium and salt
00:33:24in our diet.
00:33:25And the biggest culprits,
00:33:26well, my favorite food,
00:33:27pizza is one of them,
00:33:28as well as soups and chickens
00:33:30across the board.
00:33:31When they broke it down
00:33:32based on race and ethnicity,
00:33:33for Asian Americans,
00:33:34a lot of salt is coming
00:33:36from soy mixtures,
00:33:37sauces,
00:33:38as well as fish and rice.
00:33:40For African Americans,
00:33:41it was chicken patties,
00:33:42nuggets,
00:33:43and tenders.
00:33:44For Caucasians,
00:33:45it was pizza,
00:33:46cold cuts,
00:33:46and cured meats.
00:33:48And then for Mexican Americans,
00:33:49a lot of it was burritos
00:33:50and tacos.
00:33:51So in general,
00:33:52Americans are eating
00:33:53about 3,400 milligrams a day,
00:33:55which is way more
00:33:56than we should be getting.
00:33:57The recommended limit
00:33:58is about 2,300 milligrams.
00:34:00And actually,
00:34:00the American Heart Association
00:34:01says we should really strive
00:34:03for 1,500 milligrams.
00:34:04So to give you an idea
00:34:05of what that is,
00:34:06that's not a lot.
00:34:07It's about a little more
00:34:07than a half a teaspoon of salt.
00:34:10And so a lot of this
00:34:11is coming from what we're eating
00:34:12outside the house,
00:34:12not the salt shaker.
00:34:13About 70% is from
00:34:14those processed, packaged,
00:34:15or restaurant-bought foods.
00:34:17And so to give you some idea,
00:34:19a piece of pizza,
00:34:20a slice,
00:34:20has about 600 milligrams
00:34:21of sodium.
00:34:23A chicken nugget pack,
00:34:25that's fast food,
00:34:26about 800 milligrams,
00:34:26and a slice of bacon,
00:34:28400 milligrams.
00:34:29So this is a lot.
00:34:30It adds up fast.
00:34:31Why is this so bad?
00:34:32Well, we know that salt
00:34:33contributes to high blood pressure,
00:34:34heart failure,
00:34:35kidney disease,
00:34:36stroke, osteoporosis,
00:34:38and even stomach
00:34:39or gastric cancer.
00:34:40So really important
00:34:40for us to pay attention.
00:34:41So if you add salt
00:34:43on top of any food,
00:34:44you're almost certainly
00:34:44going over the limits.
00:34:45Correct.
00:34:45So you really shouldn't be
00:34:46adding salt at all
00:34:48because you're getting it
00:34:49from all these sources
00:34:49that you really don't realize.
00:34:50And you're a cardiologist,
00:34:51you deal with this every day.
00:34:53I do.
00:34:53What can you do to cut back?
00:34:54You know, well,
00:34:55a lot of it is educating patients.
00:34:56So when I talk to my patients
00:34:57about high blood pressure,
00:34:58in addition to talking
00:34:59about medication,
00:34:59we talk about lifestyle,
00:35:01and salt is one of them.
00:35:02Reading nutrition labels
00:35:03is a really great start
00:35:04to see what am I getting, right?
00:35:06You also want to shop
00:35:07for foods that are maybe
00:35:08frozen or fresh,
00:35:09not those packaged
00:35:10and processed foods.
00:35:11If you buy canned beans
00:35:12or vegetables,
00:35:13rinse them off.
00:35:14That can actually eliminate
00:35:15about 40% of the sodium.
00:35:17When you cook,
00:35:18use things like citrus,
00:35:19vinegar, garlic, onions,
00:35:21or salt substitutes.
00:35:22One thing that a lot of patients
00:35:23don't know or people
00:35:24is potassium.
00:35:25So more potassium in your diet.
00:35:27Foods like spinach,
00:35:28cantaloupe, beans, bananas,
00:35:29that can actually
00:35:30lower blood pressure.
00:35:32And then the condiments
00:35:33that we talked about,
00:35:34like soy sauce,
00:35:34so ketchup, pickles,
00:35:35relish, salad dressings,
00:35:36that hides a lot of it.
00:35:37So you want to maybe
00:35:38get that on the side.
00:35:40And then, you know,
00:35:40your body will get used
00:35:41to less salt.
00:35:42If you're used to a lot of it,
00:35:43the more you eliminate it,
00:35:44your taste buds will change
00:35:45and you won't need it so much.
00:35:47And I'm glad you said that
00:35:48because I have so many friends
00:35:49who just grab the salt
00:35:50straight before they taste it
00:35:51and they just throw it on
00:35:52whatever they're eating.
00:35:53Yeah, and it's just
00:35:54a really great way.
00:35:55Nobody wants to take
00:35:55blood pressure medicine.
00:35:56Trust me when I tell my patients
00:35:57they really don't want.
00:35:58This is a great way to start
00:36:00so you don't have to
00:36:00maybe get on the road

00:37:50after meeting the year before
00:37:51on the Australian TV show,

00:37:56Furness was the star.
00:37:58Jackman, new on the scene
00:37:59in his first role
00:38:00out of acting school.
00:38:02I fell.

00:38:13with his breakout role

00:38:53We are all on
00:38:54our individual journeys
00:38:55and I believe that
00:38:56the relationships

00:38:57are not random.
00:38:59We are drawn to people.
00:39:00We invite them in
00:39:01in order to learn
00:39:02our lessons
00:39:02and to recognize
00:39:03and heal the broken
00:39:04parts of ourselves.
00:39:05I remain grateful.
00:39:07Their divorce filings
00:39:08indicate the terms
00:39:09are uncontested
00:39:10and will only need
00:39:11a sign-off from a judge.

00:44:05and perhaps you know
00:44:07these,
00:44:07the open ear earbuds
00:44:09that allow you
00:44:10to stay aware
00:44:12of your surroundings
00:44:13but also connected
00:44:14to your music,
00:44:16your podcasts,
00:44:17whatever it is
00:44:17that you'd like
00:44:17to listen to.
00:44:18They slip right over
00:44:20your ear just like that
00:44:21and yep,
00:44:22there you go,
00:44:23a little supermodel.
00:44:25Oftentimes,
00:44:26with traditional headphones
00:44:27or earbuds,
00:44:28they isolate us
00:44:29from the rest of the world
00:44:30so that we can't hear
00:44:31if a car is coming.
00:44:32We can't hear
00:44:33if a baby's crying.
00:44:34We can't hear
00:44:35if somebody needs us
00:44:36and so if you're
00:44:37in an environment
00:44:37where you need
00:44:38to stay aware
00:44:39but you also want
00:44:40to enjoy your sounds,
00:44:42these are perfect for you.
00:44:43They also have come
00:44:44with a really great
00:44:45charging case
00:44:46as well as
00:44:46an additional case
00:44:48to keep everything
00:44:49safe and secure.
00:44:50These are phenomenal.
00:44:5152% off today
00:44:52plus free shipping.
00:44:54I love how you got
00:44:55the weight in the back
00:44:55perfect.
00:44:56It doesn't fall out
00:44:56of your ear.
00:44:57It's so nice
00:44:57and it doesn't pinch.
00:44:58Exactly.
00:44:58Speaking of weight,
00:45:00okay,
00:45:00you can grab this one here.
00:45:02This is the Adoro Sport
00:45:04weighted vest.
00:45:05It's only 20 pounds.
00:45:07That's only 20 pounds?
00:45:08That's 20 pounds.
00:45:09I made them check
00:45:10just to make sure.
00:45:11So we've got seven weights
00:45:13from four up to 30 pounds.
00:45:15That's what 20 pounds
00:45:16was like.
00:45:1620 pounds for that one.
00:45:18And so what's fabulous
00:45:19about weighted vests
00:45:20is that you can just
00:45:22level up any,
00:45:24whether it is a fitness
00:45:25routine or regular routine.
00:45:26So whether you're
00:45:27stepping on the treadmill,
00:45:28going for a walk,
00:45:29even doing chores
00:45:30around the house.
00:45:31Stepping on the scale,
00:45:32that wouldn't be good.
00:45:33No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:45:33Do not step on the scale
00:45:35with your weighted vest.
00:45:37But if you're on the treadmill,
00:45:38if you're going
00:45:39for a walk outside,
00:45:40if you're doing just chores
00:45:41around the house,
00:45:42you can add that,
00:45:43you know,
00:45:44muscle toning,
00:45:45muscle strengthening,
00:45:47which is so important,
00:45:48especially for women.
00:45:49Like you don't have to be
00:45:50an Ironman or a pro athlete
00:45:51to get the benefits
00:45:53of a weighted vest.
00:45:54And again,
00:45:54they start low.
00:45:56Four to six pounds
00:45:57are their smallest,
00:45:58up to 30 pounds.
00:45:59There's guidance on the website
00:46:00about how to choose
00:46:01what's right for you.
00:46:02But it's something
00:46:03that's really phenomenal,
00:46:05especially for women.
00:46:06And again,
00:46:06even when you're going
00:46:07to the grocery store,
00:46:08all slash and have today
00:46:09from Adora Sport.
00:46:1050% off.
00:46:11You got it.
00:46:12Okay, A-TREX.
00:46:13Summer sandals season is here.
00:46:16We've got a big assortment
00:46:17of all but one of these
00:46:19is genuine leather.
00:46:20So we've got their leather
00:46:21as well as their faux leather.
00:46:23And these are all about footwear
00:46:24that fits and feels better
00:46:26because it's all designed
00:46:28with very specific arch support
00:46:30and also to help alleviate
00:46:31some of the pain
00:46:32that comes and discomfort
00:46:33that comes from
00:46:34common foot conditions
00:46:35like plantar fasciitis
00:46:36or heel pain.
00:46:38So these are really designed
00:46:39to not only look good
00:46:41for every day
00:46:41but also to make sure
00:46:43that you are walking
00:46:43in comfort and ease.

00:46:58These are really incredible
00:47:00from Pro Talis.
00:47:01And it's the deep heel cup
00:47:03that is the specific kind
00:47:05of magic about
00:47:06these particular insoles
00:47:08where you can feel
00:47:09the difference
00:47:09in your knees, hips,
00:47:11and back
00:47:11when you put these
00:47:12in your shoes.
00:47:13So you can either use
00:47:14the style to be able
00:47:16to replace with the factory
00:47:18insoles that come
00:47:18with your shoes.
00:47:19We also have...
00:47:21These orange ones
00:47:21are designed for wider shoes.
00:47:24So think about boots,
00:47:25work boots,
00:47:25wherever there's
00:47:26more interior space.
00:47:28We've got sizes
00:47:28that accommodate
00:47:29women's 5 to men's 18.
00:47:32Yeah, I was looking
00:47:32for my size.
00:47:33We got them here.
00:47:34All slashed in half.
00:47:36There we go.
00:47:37There you go.
00:47:37All right.
00:47:38Okay.
00:47:38This is the knock box.
00:47:40This stands for
00:47:41next of kin
00:47:42to provide peace of mind
00:47:44for when the unexpected happens
00:47:46and oftentimes families
00:47:48are scrambling
00:47:49to figure out
00:47:50where all the information is.
00:47:51So this is both
00:47:52an organization system
00:47:54as well as
00:47:54an estate planning tool.
00:47:56So think about things like
00:47:57if you needed on the spot,
00:47:59birth certificates,
00:48:00passports,
00:48:01house deeds,
00:48:02car documents,
00:48:04pension papers,
00:48:04insurance policies,
00:48:05like the list goes on and on.
00:48:08It would be for most people
00:48:10a struggle to scramble
00:48:11to find those things
00:48:12if you could even find them at all
00:48:13because some of them
00:48:14are stored on paper
00:48:15somewhere in our house.
00:48:16Some of them are digitally
00:48:17in our email
00:48:18or our computers.
00:48:19Some of them
00:48:19are just in our minds
00:48:20like where is that,
00:48:22you know,
00:48:22safety deposit box
00:48:23and where did I hide
00:48:24the key for it
00:48:25and all of those kinds of things.
00:48:27So this system is designed
00:48:28to take all of that information,
00:48:30put it in one system
00:48:31so people are covered
00:48:32in the event
00:48:33of the unexpected.
00:48:34Everything from Knockbox
00:48:35slashed in half.
00:48:36And then finally,
00:48:37let's get down there.
00:48:39This is Sam tonight.
00:48:40Get down to the luggage.
00:48:40Yeah.
00:48:41So give this a spin.
00:48:42So we've got double wheels
00:48:44for easy maneuverability.
00:48:46Whoops.
00:48:46Okay, that was on me.
00:48:47I know, sorry.
00:48:48We've got a huge variety.
00:48:50They're lightweight
00:48:51but really durable.
00:48:52We even have an option
00:48:53where it's a whole office
00:48:55in a bag right down there.
00:48:56Everything from Sam tonight
00:48:58slashed in half.
00:48:59Plus free shipping.
00:49:01This is some great luggage.
00:49:02Such good luggage.
00:49:03Yeah, I love it.

00:49:36tomorrow right here on GMA.
00:49:37Yeah, it's going to be
00:49:38a lot of fun.
00:49:39And now to Abbott Elementary
00:49:40creator and star Quinta Bronson.
00:49:42She got a huge honor
00:49:43in her hometown of Philadelphia
00:49:44where the hit show takes place.
00:49:47Getting the key to the city
00:49:48of brotherly love.
00:49:49And let me tell you,
00:49:50the love didn't stop there.
00:49:52Jaday Norman was there
00:49:53for the big day.
00:49:55I've been looking forward
00:49:56to this all year.
00:49:58Lila made me realize
00:50:00that if even one kid
00:50:02wants to do this,
00:50:02then maybe it's worth it
00:50:03to keep going.
00:50:05She can be the sun
00:50:06and the moon
00:50:07and the planets.
00:50:08Abbott Elementary's
00:50:09Quinta Bronson
00:50:10is a testament
00:50:11of what happens
00:50:12to cultivated dreams
00:50:13back in Philadelphia.
00:50:15Thank you
00:50:16for never allowing anyone
00:50:20to put your Philadelphia
00:50:22grit and resilience
00:50:23in a box.
00:50:25The hometown
00:50:26where it all started,
00:50:28honoring her
00:50:28in the biggest way.
00:50:30Congratulations.
00:50:32On getting the key
00:50:32to the city.
00:50:34What does that mean to you
00:50:36that the work
00:50:37that you have done
00:50:38to spotlight Philly
00:50:39and all of that
00:50:41just being like
00:50:41coming back full circle
00:50:43to you?
00:50:43It means that
00:50:44what I've done
00:50:46with Abbott,
00:50:47which will always
00:50:48feel very intimate,
00:50:49you know,
00:50:49it'll always just feel
00:50:50like me making a show
00:50:52in my apartment
00:50:53and hoping that
00:50:54someone picks it up.
00:50:55It does mean that
00:50:55it's bigger than
00:50:56I could have ever imagined.
00:50:58We have to see
00:50:59ourselves in the big picture.
00:51:01Bronson,
00:51:02returning to her
00:51:02alma mater,
00:51:03the Andrew Hamilton School,
00:51:05hoping to help
00:51:06plant seeds of success
00:51:07for the next generation,
00:51:09unveiling a new mural
00:51:10titled Blooming Futures.
00:51:13Murals in this city
00:51:15are life-changing.
00:51:16Seeing one changes
00:51:17how you look
00:51:18at your city,
00:51:19how you look
00:51:19at yourself,
00:51:20how you look
00:51:20at your neighborhood
00:51:20to help them
00:51:22see themselves,
00:51:24you know,
00:51:25on this big wall
00:51:26and see them
00:51:27as beautifully
00:51:28as that mural
00:51:28depicts them.
00:51:30The vibrant work
00:51:30featuring actual
00:51:32students and teachers
00:51:33is a partnership
00:51:34with Mural Arts,
00:51:36the nation's largest
00:51:37public art program
00:51:38that aims to beautify,
00:51:40inspire,
00:51:41and empower
00:51:42of program Bronson
00:51:44herself was once
00:51:45a part of.
00:51:46These murals
00:51:46are about legacy.
00:51:48We're excited
00:51:49to work with you all
00:51:49to figure out
00:51:50what represents
00:51:50legacy for Abbott Elementary.
00:51:53The program featured
00:51:54on season two
00:51:55of Abbott.
00:51:56I think growing up
00:51:57in a city like Philly,
00:51:58you start to learn
00:52:00that many people
00:52:01don't see past today.
00:52:02And if you can't see
00:52:03a future,
00:52:05a tomorrow,
00:52:05at the very least,
00:52:07that has an effect
00:52:08on how you live your life.
00:52:09You have to be able
00:52:10to think there's
00:52:10something to wake up
00:52:11for tomorrow.
00:52:12And the Emmy goes
00:52:13to Quinta Bronson
00:52:15Abbott Elementary.
00:52:19Now,
00:52:20a two-time Emmy winner
00:52:22and the first
00:52:22Black woman to win
00:52:23Best Actress
00:52:24in a Network Comedy
00:52:25in over 40 years,
00:52:27Bronson says
00:52:28her success
00:52:29was far from luck.
00:52:31You said that
00:52:32yourself from years ago
00:52:33to see where you are now,
00:52:34you would say,
00:52:35exactly, period.
00:52:36This is what you worked for.
00:52:38Very true.
00:52:39What would you say
00:52:40to someone
00:52:40who is going
00:52:41through that process
00:52:42and still trying
00:52:43to get to their
00:52:44exactly, period, point?
00:52:46I think
00:52:47you just look
00:52:49at those tough days
00:52:50as part
00:52:53of the process.
00:52:56That tough day
00:52:57will come in handy
00:52:58later for storytelling
00:53:01or whatever it is
00:53:01you want to do.
00:53:02And so,
00:53:03if you're really
00:53:04supposed to do it,
00:53:05you'll find your place
00:53:06in it.
00:53:07And your place
00:53:08may not be
00:53:08what you expected.
00:53:10For Good Morning America,
00:53:11Janae Norman,
00:53:12ABC News, New York.
00:53:15Well, Quinta
00:53:15has definitely
00:53:15found her place in it,
00:53:17which is on top.
00:53:18I love it.
00:53:18She's great.
00:53:19All right, Rebecca,
00:53:20what you got?
00:53:21She did indeed.
00:53:21Thanks, Michael.
00:53:22Okay, we're going to
00:53:23turn now to a look
00:53:24at castor oil.
00:53:26The home remedy staple
00:53:27is back in the spotlight
00:53:28thanks to TikTok
00:53:29with videos racking up
00:53:31400 million views.
00:53:32People claim it can
00:53:33detox your organs,
00:53:35regrow your hair,
00:53:36and even naturally
00:53:37induce labor.
00:53:39Our chief medical
00:53:40correspondent,
00:53:40Dr. Tara Narula,
00:53:41is back to break down
00:53:43if castor oil
00:53:44is worth the hype.
00:53:46Great to see you again,
00:53:48Dr. Dancing Queen.
00:53:49Okay, break this down
00:53:51for us.
00:53:51Is this real?
00:53:52What can it actually do?
00:53:53Well, castor oil
00:53:54is a vegetable oil
00:53:56that's derived
00:53:56from the castor plant,
00:53:58the beans and seeds.
00:53:58It's been used
00:53:59for thousands of years.
00:54:00In fact, supposedly
00:54:01Cleopatra used it
00:54:02to brighten her eyes.
00:54:03So it goes all the way
00:54:03back to ancient Egypt.
00:54:05We do find it in cosmetics
00:54:06and other products.
00:54:07But the only FDA-approved
00:54:09indication for it
00:54:10is as a stimulant laxative
00:54:11for those individuals
00:54:12who may have constipation.
00:54:14You can use it
00:54:15as a one-time dose,
00:54:1615 to 60 milliliters.
00:54:18It works within a few hours.
00:54:19It's definitely not
00:54:20a first-line treatment
00:54:21for constipation,
00:54:22and you shouldn't
00:54:22use it long-term.
00:54:23And if you overdo it
00:54:25in terms of gesting it,
00:54:27you can actually end up
00:54:27with chest pain,
00:54:28shortness of breath,
00:54:29nausea, diarrhea,
00:54:30dizziness.
00:54:31Every time you see
00:54:32one of these easy fixes
00:54:34with household products
00:54:35on TikTok,
00:54:35you really want it to work,
00:54:37or at least I do.
00:54:37I feel that way.
00:54:39Is it actually,
00:54:40I mean, you mentioned
00:54:41Cleopatra.
00:54:42Right.
00:54:42Is it really a replacement
00:54:43for eye patches?
00:54:44Is it going to induce labor?
00:54:46Yeah.
00:54:47Well, my 12-year-old
00:54:48this morning told me
00:54:48she heard it grows hair
00:54:49from TikTok.
00:54:51And so let me tell you
00:54:52what I told her,
00:54:52which is you cannot believe
00:54:53everything you see
00:54:54on TikTok.
00:54:55And a lot of what you're seeing
00:54:56is anecdotal,
00:54:57but not based
00:54:58in really good scientific evidence.
00:54:59So what is based on evidence?
00:55:01Well, we do know
00:55:02that it does have
00:55:02some antibacterial properties,
00:55:05also maybe some
00:55:05anti-inflammatory properties,
00:55:07and it is moisturizing
00:55:08because it's an oil.
00:55:09That being said,
00:55:10there's no data
00:55:11to really support
00:55:11its use as packs.
00:55:12A lot of people
00:55:13on TikTok use it as packs.
00:55:15Also, no data to support
00:55:16hair growth or eyelash growth.
00:55:18In fact, you have to be careful
00:55:19because if it does get
00:55:20in your eyes,
00:55:21it can cause damage
00:55:22to the cornea,
00:55:23possible infection.
00:55:24If you use it on your skin
00:55:26as a moisturizing agent,
00:55:27it may make your hair shinier
00:55:29or your face a little brighter.
00:55:30But if you use too much
00:55:31because it's so thick,
00:55:32it can clog your pores
00:55:33and lead to acne.
00:55:34And some people can actually
00:55:35develop a contact dermatitis
00:55:37or an allergic reaction from it.
00:55:38And as far as the question
00:55:39about labor,
00:55:41so actually it can
00:55:42potentially induce labor
00:55:44and lead to contractions.
00:55:45So the recommendation
00:55:46is that pregnant women
00:55:47should not be using castor oil
00:55:49for that very reason.
00:55:50So your 12-year-old daughter,
00:55:52would you let her use it?
00:55:53And how would you tell her
00:55:53to incorporate it if she did?
00:55:55Right.
00:55:55I mean, listen,
00:55:56what the dermatologists say
00:55:57is that maybe you can use it
00:55:58on your lips
00:55:59if your lips are a little bit chapped
00:56:00and lightly on your hair
00:56:02or your skin if you needed to,
00:56:03but definitely staying away
00:56:04from the eyes.
00:56:05But the bottom line
00:56:06is you should always talk
00:56:07to your doctor.
00:56:08And if you're using it
00:56:09for the FDA-approved indication
00:56:10as a laxative,
00:56:11that's probably the way to go.
00:56:12Dr. Darula,
00:56:14as always,
00:56:14you've got all the answers.
00:56:17Coming up here,
00:56:18Lori B. is back

00:56:53Our GMA lifestyle contributor,
00:56:55Lori Bergamotto,
00:56:55is here with tips

00:57:02by wondering,
00:57:04wait, what face shape
00:57:05do I have?
00:57:06I think a lot of people
00:57:06wonder that,
00:57:07but then also,
00:57:08what do we look for
00:57:08for sunglasses?
00:57:09Right.
00:57:10Well, so to answer
00:57:10your first question,
00:57:11first of all,
00:57:11you have a beautiful face,
00:57:13Ginger Z.
00:57:13I don't even know
00:57:14what shape it is.
00:57:14I would say that
00:57:15you're probably heart-shaped
00:57:16or round.
00:57:18That would be my guess.
00:57:19But if you guys don't know
00:57:20or at home you don't know,
00:57:22you can easily pop
00:57:23into an optician's office
00:57:24and find out.
00:57:25You can also,
00:57:25there are certain filters
00:57:26on different social media platforms
00:57:28that you can look at
00:57:29and it will tell you
00:57:30what your face shape is.
00:57:31It also changes with age.
00:57:32But anyway,
00:57:33and pregnancy
00:57:34and a few other things.
00:57:35Exactly.
00:57:36Okay, so first up
00:57:37we have these
00:57:37and they're for a round face.
00:57:39Yes, so we actually
00:57:40spoke to an optician.
00:57:41Her name is Chelsea Langton
00:57:43and she gave me
00:57:43great tips for all of these.
00:57:45You can go out there.
00:57:45They're cute.
00:57:45Pick them up,
00:57:46play with them.
00:57:47And what she said
00:57:48is no matter
00:57:48what your face shape is,
00:57:49there are two things
00:57:50that really matter.
00:57:50Oh, I like those on you, Ginger.
00:57:51They look great.
00:57:52So maybe you do
00:57:53have a round face.
00:57:54But there are two things
00:57:55that are really important.
00:57:56One, your pupil should be
00:57:57centered in the middle
00:57:57of the lens
00:57:58and you should be able
00:57:59to see at least
00:58:00half of your eyebrow,
00:58:01which we can see here on Ginger.
00:58:03You never want
00:58:04to completely cover it.
00:58:05Now, now that we got
00:58:06that out of the way,
00:58:07if you do have a round face,
00:58:08what you're trying to do
00:58:09is add some sculptural effect.
00:58:11You're trying to lift
00:58:12your cheekbones.
00:58:13So you should go for things
00:58:14that have sharp corners,
00:58:16more geometric lines,
00:58:18bold, thick frames,
00:58:19which is part of the reason
00:58:20we chose this cabana pair
00:58:21from J. Crew.
00:58:23And everything you're seeing
00:58:24today, ladies,
00:58:25everything's on sale
00:58:25and everything is under $60.
00:58:28So really good deals
00:58:29on all of that.
00:58:30But what we loved about these,
00:58:32it has that slight cat eye lift.
00:58:34Yes.
00:58:34And that really is going
00:58:36to just give you
00:58:37higher cheekbones.
00:58:38It's going to add
00:58:38a little bit of like
00:58:39a chiseled look
00:58:40to a round face.
00:58:41So we loved these.
00:58:43And she said,
00:58:43if you have a round face,
00:58:44the key is avoiding
00:58:45tiny frames.
00:58:47Width is very important.
00:58:48No filler needed.
00:58:49You need to keep those, Ginger.
00:58:50They look great on you.
00:58:51They're great.
00:58:51All right.
00:58:51So oval face?
00:58:53Oval face.
00:58:53So if you have
00:58:53an oval face shape,
00:58:55which is the most common
00:58:56face shape,
00:58:58congratulations,
00:58:58you're in love.
00:58:59Because the good news
00:59:00when we spoke to Chelsea,
00:59:02she said that every frame
00:59:03looks good on,
00:59:05those look really good on you.
00:59:07Look at those.
00:59:07And you definitely
00:59:08have an oval face shape.
00:59:10So those really work for you.
00:59:11Are we sure about that?
00:59:12I think you really do.
00:59:13So these are from Diff.
00:59:14And what,
00:59:15if you have an oval face shape,
00:59:17the key is keeping that balance
00:59:18because your face
00:59:19is so symmetrical.
00:59:20You want to keep that balance.
00:59:22And one of the ways
00:59:22that you are able to do that
00:59:24is you want to, again,
00:59:25go for width.
00:59:26So you're going to choose
00:59:27wider frames.
00:59:27And that's going to really
00:59:29help balance it out.
00:59:30This is the Diff Indie.
00:59:32Guys,
00:59:32Diff is such a great company.
00:59:33I don't know if you know this,
00:59:34but every pair of Diff sunglasses
00:59:36you buy,
00:59:37they give eye care
00:59:38or a pair of glasses
00:59:39to someone in need.
00:59:40So it's a really great company.
00:59:42And they're so fun.
00:59:43There's so many fun shades.
00:59:44You can get these in prescription
00:59:45if you need them,
00:59:46like I'm speaking for myself.
00:59:47Okay, you need those too, Ginger.
00:59:47See, and these feel tight.
00:59:49I could, like, run in them,
00:59:50I feel like.
00:59:50Ooh, very stylish.
00:59:52This actually goes really well
00:59:53with your outfit.
00:59:53So they come in such fun frames.
00:59:55I like these.
00:59:57Okay, so now we're moving on
00:59:58to our next face shape,
01:00:00which is the heart-shaped face.
01:00:02Oh, okay.
01:00:02So I always think of, like,
01:00:03Reese Witherspoon
01:00:04as, like, the poster girl
01:00:05for a heart-shaped face, right?
01:00:06That makes sense, yes.
01:00:07So in order to balance that,
01:00:09you want to go for oval, round.
01:00:11You can even do semi-rimless with this.
01:00:14We focus on rounded frames
01:00:16because they really soften,
01:00:17like, if you have, like,
01:00:18a wider forehead.
01:00:19But ladies, these look really good
01:00:20on you as well.
01:00:21I really like these.
01:00:22Everything's really working.
01:00:23These are my favorites so far on me.
01:00:25Okay, so this is from Quince,
01:00:27and these are the Avery.
01:00:28We love these because also,
01:00:30even though they're only $50,
01:00:32what's really cool about these
01:00:33is they have those flexible nose pads.
01:00:35And that's another thing.
01:00:36Yes, another thing that our expert told us
01:00:39is that if you can,
01:00:40because sometimes they're more expensive,
01:00:41but if you can find
01:00:42the flexible nose pads,
01:00:43that's going to help make you
01:00:45have a more customized fit
01:00:46than just the acetate.
01:00:48So that's a really good thing to look for.
01:00:50And at $50,
01:00:51those are the thing to get.
01:00:53So we love those.
01:00:54Square.
01:00:54So we're going to move on to square.
01:00:56And this you may have also seen,
01:00:58if you're an extremely online person,
01:01:00everything is about
01:01:01that oval face shape.
01:01:04So square draws an angular features.
01:01:06They're really going to pop
01:01:07if you introduce some curves
01:01:08into the frame.
01:01:10And the oval frames here are a winner.
01:01:12We found these at Nordstrom.
01:01:13They're from Les Specs.
01:01:15They have that retro vibe.
01:01:17So cool.
01:01:17They come in so many different colors.
01:01:19And I want to get to this last one.
01:01:20Yes, yes.
01:01:20Even though you two were so great
01:01:22and everything looked good on you,
01:01:23this is the universal pick.
01:01:25Oh.
01:01:26Round frame.
01:01:28So no matter what your face shape,
01:01:29these will look good on you.
01:01:30From Amazon,
01:01:31these are called Sojos.
01:01:32You guys,
01:01:33they're on sale right now
01:01:34for just over $12.
01:01:36These look good on everybody.
01:01:38I like these.
01:01:38I'm going to put a pair on as well.
01:01:40Let's do that.
01:01:41Enjoy.
01:01:41All right.
01:01:42And you can shop
01:01:43for all of these sunglasses,
01:01:45the ones on our face,
01:01:46as well as all the rest
01:01:47on GoodMorningAmerica.com.
01:01:48And coming up,
01:01:49two of the stars
01:01:50of the new comedy,
01:01:51Adults, are here.
01:01:52Jack Inanen
01:01:53and Malik Elisal
01:01:54are joining us live.
01:01:56There they are.
01:01:56We'll get them some sunglasses.
01:02:07We're back with two stars
01:02:08who've excited Michael Sterihan.
01:02:10They're the stars
01:02:10of the new comedy series,
01:02:11Adult,
01:02:12which the New York Times
01:02:12calls Friends for a New Generation.
01:02:14It follows a group of 20-somethings
01:02:15living together
01:02:16and figuring out their lives.
01:02:17Malik Elisal,
01:02:19Jack Inanen,
01:02:19here to tell us about it.
01:02:20Thanks for coming in, guys.
01:02:21Thank you, man.
01:02:22You have to answer
01:02:22Michael's question later.
01:02:24Yes.
01:02:24Jack, tell us about the show.
01:02:27It's a hilarious,
01:02:28hilarious comedy
01:02:29about five 20-somethings,
01:02:32figuring out what that means
01:02:33to be in your 20s,
01:02:34all living together
01:02:35in Samir's parents' house
01:02:36out in Queens.
01:02:38Yes.
01:02:38And Malik,
01:02:39the show taps into
01:02:41when you were,
01:02:41you know,
01:02:42the time of your life
01:02:42when your friends
01:02:43or your family.
01:02:44So what did you all do
01:02:46to make that connection?
01:02:47Man,
01:02:48we got to go out to Toronto
01:02:50a little early
01:02:51is where we filmed at.
01:02:52And we were all
01:02:53staying in the same
01:02:54apartment building
01:02:55and I just happened
01:02:56to have, like,
01:02:57a big room
01:02:58so everybody would just
01:02:58kind of come up
01:02:59to my room
01:03:00every single night
01:03:00and we'd, like,
01:03:01get room service
01:03:02and kind of, like,
01:03:03re-enact.
01:03:05Like, we got to know
01:03:06each other, basically.
01:03:07We're basically, like,
01:03:08double-dutched each other
01:03:09into each other's lives
01:03:10where they just tell us
01:03:11everything about everybody.
01:03:13Amita at one point said,
01:03:15she said,
01:03:16everyone go around
01:03:16and say something,
01:03:17tell us a secret
01:03:17that no one else has,
01:03:18that you haven't told
01:03:19anyone else before
01:03:20and we did.
01:03:21I think that was, like,
01:03:22trauma bond.
01:03:22We all are
01:03:26our brother's keepers.
01:03:27Yes.
01:03:28Let's take a look
01:03:29at a clip.
01:03:29Oh, my God.
01:03:32Hi.
01:03:32Hi.
01:03:33Not quite the outfit
01:03:34we discussed.
01:03:35My dad's suit.
01:03:36You said dress up?
01:03:37Yeah, like a normal guy,
01:03:38not like you run
01:03:39Gotham City.
01:03:40You look like
01:03:40a little rascal, dude.
01:03:42You look like
01:03:42a little rascal.
01:03:43You look amazing.
01:03:44You look incredible.
01:03:46Hey, Paul Baker,
01:03:46can you help me
01:03:47at the table?
01:03:47You look so good.
01:03:48Thanks.
01:03:52Yeah.
01:03:53See, we see all this
01:03:54bonding right here,
01:03:55but tell me about
01:03:55this rap battle.
01:03:57Ooh.
01:03:57Oh, it's not, like,
01:03:58between us.
01:03:58It was not between us.
01:03:59This was the rap beef,
01:04:01the infamous Drake Kendrick
01:04:03beef.
01:04:03Oh, okay.
01:04:04It happened while
01:04:05we were shooting
01:04:05the pilot,
01:04:06and that was intense.
01:04:10It colored the pilot.
01:04:11Like, it definitely, like,
01:04:12added...
01:04:12How did that
01:04:12color the pilot?
01:04:13It just kind of
01:04:14became a part of it.
01:04:15Like, we just couldn't
01:04:16stop talking about it.
01:04:17We were both very big fans,
01:04:19and it was happening
01:04:19while we were shooting,
01:04:21and so we would, like,
01:04:21be in the middle of a take,
01:04:22and it was that night
01:04:23when Family Matters drops,
01:04:25and then the...
01:04:25Like, we had to leave
01:04:27a take to go listen
01:04:28in the bathroom,
01:04:28and no one else cared.
01:04:29Who's right?
01:04:30Kendrick or Drake?
01:04:31Drake.
01:04:31I mean, because...
01:04:32That was quick.
01:04:34We were both from Canada,
01:04:35so we had to, like,
01:04:37represent.
01:04:38We did.
01:04:38I had to represent, yeah.
01:04:39Yeah.
01:04:40I love Drake.
01:04:40Yeah.
01:04:41I love Drake, too.
01:04:42Listen.
01:04:43Me, too.
01:04:44I'm guilty.
01:04:44I'm staying out of it.
01:04:46Better to stay out of it,
01:04:47George.
01:04:48Not worth it.
01:04:49All right, whatever.
01:04:49But, Malik,
01:04:50we also hear...
01:04:51Jack, you like to eat.
01:04:52Jack likes to eat on set.
01:04:53He's hungry.
01:04:54He's always trying
01:04:55to eat on set,
01:04:56but the problem is
01:04:56if you eat in one take,
01:04:57you have to eat in, like,
01:04:5930 takes after that, right?
01:05:00Yes.
01:05:01So he shows up hungry to set,
01:05:02and he doesn't think about
01:05:03that if he takes one bite
01:05:04of this food
01:05:05that it's over with.
01:05:06I always thought about that
01:05:07watching Big Bang Theory
01:05:08many years ago.
01:05:09They're always eating something.
01:05:11Yes.
01:05:11Yeah.
01:05:11How can you possibly do that?
01:05:13Well, that's my dream scenario.
01:05:15And my issue was that
01:05:17they would tell me not...
01:05:18They're like,
01:05:18if you take a bite,
01:05:19you're going to have to...
01:05:19I take a bite every scene.
01:05:20I'm like,
01:05:21that's what I'm going for.
01:05:22I want to eat this burrito,
01:05:24please.
01:05:24I stopped this guy.
01:05:25I stopped this guy.
01:05:25That was our beef
01:05:26between each other.
01:05:27I wasn't letting him eat beef
01:05:2930 times in a row.
01:05:31But he liked to do impressions
01:05:33on set.
01:05:33Oh, yeah.
01:05:34Yeah, loopy.
01:05:35Of who?
01:05:36Who do you like to...
01:05:37I would do, like,
01:05:38Tony Soprano,
01:05:39like, just to stay awake,
01:05:41basically, in set.
01:05:43So I'd do, like,
01:05:44one take just as Samir,
01:05:46and then I would, like,
01:05:46do another one as Tony.
01:05:48Give us one as Tony.
01:05:49Well, I'd give it,
01:05:50I'd be like,
01:05:50okay, there's, like,
01:05:51one line in the pilot
01:05:51where it's, like,
01:05:52you know,
01:05:52I always thought the world
01:05:53was going to be waiting for me,
01:05:54and instead,
01:05:55everybody's, like,
01:05:55annoyed that I'm here.
01:05:57And then I'd be like,
01:05:57all right,
01:05:58I got to get loose.
01:05:59I'd be like,
01:06:00I always thought the world
01:06:00was going to be waiting for me,
01:06:01instead,
01:06:02everyone's annoyed that I'm here.
01:06:03I can't believe it again.
01:06:13Can you go to him
01:06:13and do another one?
01:06:14He...
01:06:15This is all him.
01:06:15Well, one of my,
01:06:16he's so many good ones.
01:06:17A good one is
01:06:18your Shia LaBeouf.
01:06:20He, just, you have it,
01:06:21you have it down so well.
01:06:22Well, yeah, it's,
01:06:23well, yeah, it's Shia,
01:06:24when he's, you know,
01:06:25he's coming clean,
01:06:27you know, he's,
01:06:27he's new,
01:06:30he's brand new.
01:06:31You totally got to Brad.
01:06:33Brad, right there.
